Fun thing #1: Let me start by saying that my Secret Pal rocks! I mentioned before that she was sneaky, right? I got a package from Amazon a few days ago and in the return address spot was the name "Lady Secret Pal". This cracks me up! So she sent me this knitting journal that I have been looking at forever! Thanks lady!!! I love it!
Fun thing #2: I was on the hunt for some *gasp everybody* Red Heart yarn for my Hallowig when I spotted these babies!

Have I ever mentioned that I am a sucker for bright colored knitting needles? So most sane people would have picked the color that they liked the most...but who said I was sane...I got one of each! US Size 13,15,17,19,35,and 50! What am I going to make with a size 50?? Who knows...but it was chartruese green and it looked so pretty. My advice to you is, rush out to your nearest WalMart and buy some fun needles.
Fun Thing #3: So...in my many hours of reading blogs lately, I ran across Margene's Flower Basket Shawl. It was love at first "site"(pun intended)...so of course I had to track down the yarn;-) It's American Alpaca 'Glimmer'. It is the softest thing you have ever felt...beautiful light pink in color with tiny flecks of silver thread running through it. Jesse loved it as you can see, I quickly had to put it away before he loved it too much...if you know what I mean.

Look at Glimmer up close and personal, ain't she pretty. We'll see when I can start working on her...for now, it gets put in the stash.
Fun Thing #4: Klaralund update! I haven't been able to work on her as much as I would have liked lately...but here is the the back section, at least what I have done so far. The colors are so brilliant, you have to see it to believe it! This weekend, I plan on finishing the back and starting in on the front. You heard it here ladies and gentlemen...weekend knitting is on the schedule!

Those needles are so cool. I love bright colors. Wish I had the money to run by Wal-mart. Maybe next week. Oh, I love your cat too.
Posted by: Alyx at September 22, 2004 07:47 AMYou say I never comment, but this entry shows some creative photo angles, and I indeed agree that you are a sucker for bright colored needles! I love your focus on "fun things" #1,2,etc. Jesse looks great with the pink yarn, but I don't recognize the green blanket he's curled up on. I hope you stick to your weekend knitting schedule...no interferences!
Posted by: Marsha at September 22, 2004 07:50 AMDon't you love that my mom commented on my blog! She reads my blog all the time, and in fact she gets a ton of her friends and our family to read it too! This is her first ever comment though!!! Thanks mom!
Posted by: Stacey at September 22, 2004 08:23 AMI'm glad you liked the gifty! You were originally suppose to get something else, but when a South Florida order went bad (let's all thank mother nature), I went to the blessed Wish List.
Hopefully the vendor will be able to fill the order soon!
Take care.
Posted by: lady secret pal at September 22, 2004 06:06 PMThose needles are awesome! I would want them just to stick in a jar or something! You know, I've been eyeing up the flower basket shawl ever since I saw it in the magazine...do you think a Rowan kidsilk Haze would work?
Posted by: Lynne at September 23, 2004 06:45 AMStacey,
Thanks for the reminder about the colinette book of accessories. I have seen it before, but forgot. After your comment, I looked it up and ordered it, and I love it, it will come in very handy. :)
And that Klaralund looks gorgeous!
Posted by: chelsea at September 23, 2004 03:48 PMNext to the Glimmer, Jesse looks just like an extra big ball of tan-colored yarn, all curled up that way! She's too cute.
Posted by: Janet at September 23, 2004 08:19 PMThose needles rock! And too bad you didn't let me know you wanted Red Heart, or I could have RAOK'd you a selection (since I got bit by the yarn snob bug LOL)
I'm going to attempt to knit the Hallowig in white, and work the motion W into the side of it in red for the Wisconsin Badgers game next month. It will keep my head warm anyway HA!
And I LOVE that Flower Basket Shawl!! Gorgeous yarn, and such a pretty color you picked--I see why Jesse loved it.
Posted by: Lynnette at September 24, 2004 03:32 PMMy needles look so boring, all grey and hanging in their beige holder. Have fun with yours.
