So, do you ever start a project...just to find that halfway through it, you completely lack the motivation to finish it? How about when the project has a deadline? That's where I find myself this morning...I'm not feelin' the knitting love...I haven't really consistently worked on anything this week. Crap. I could blame too much 'Must See TV', but I have knit and watched TV in the past. How do you get the love back? (this is a question folks:) What do you do to get yourself remotivated to finish a project? I know this is a temporary lapse, but dang I have too many projects I want to work on down the road...some of these current projects HAVE to get finished! This weekend I have already planned to leave the house as little as possible, we'll see what happens.
Later that afternoon...
Trying to get out of my knitting funk, I was reading through the diverse and always interesting blogs that are currently being hosted at Pretty Posies (to see a list click here) Have any of you seen what Kay is knitting up over at Mason-Dixon Knitting? WOW! It's called the Psychedelic Squares Afghan, the pattern is FREE, bonus!!! Carrie just finished a really cute poncho using Yarn Harlot's "A Very Harlot Poncho" pattern...again it's free!! Jenn just made some mittens that totally match her blog AND she's co-hosting the Weasley Along! I love seeing what everyone is knitting up!
Oh...and one last thing I found:
Missa has a really cool hat pattern up now that you can either knit or crochet, with a big flower on it. Her cousin saw a hat in a magazine and asked Missa to knit one, so she figured out how to make it just from the picture...she really is a bad ass knitter!.
I put the sweaters away for months and then once I've forgotten about them, I see them and remember what made me want to knit them in the first place (if not, I leave them longer). I also look through my latest mags and catalogues and think about what knit things I'd want to buy if I couldn't knit.
Posted by: Lauren at September 24, 2004 06:05 PMi get that way with lots of projects. and that's a great idea. when you don't feel like knittin', start surfin' knitting blogs.
Posted by: froggy at September 25, 2004 09:18 AMIf you're the one imposing the deadline, you're the one who can extend it. Put that stuff down for awhile and re-energize. You are not the only one :)
Stacey, Stacey, Stacey...it will pass. Put all the UFO's away and start some exciting, quick new project. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
