When I went to The Recyled Lamb on Wednesday, I found out that they were having a sale on Friday. What, a yarn sale? So Anne and I decided to meet up on Black Friday and support our local yarn shop economy...it was our duty as knitters you know! So I brought a little bit of cash so that I wouldn't spend over my budgeted amount. I have to say I'm so proud of myself (pat on the back). I knew that I wanted to make a Latifa scarf...so here are the colors I decided on. It's Elsebeth Lavold's 'Silky Wool'. It's 65% wool and 35% silk...yummy stuff. I wasn't able to find the Garn Studio Silk Tweed that it called for, but I think I like the feel of this even better. I chose green (014), light pink (012), a deep red (24), and a deep purple (23). The Koigu is from my stash...I bought it on a trip to Kansas City, it's KPPPM P627. This is going to have to wait for the New Year though...got to get the Christmas stuff done first. But I will make this scarf to wear this winter! It should be a good mindless knitting project since it is all garter stitch 'til you get to the ruffles.

So I shouldn't admit it, but my Christmas tree has been up for about a week and a half already! I love Christmas so much, I couldn't wait to put it up. I leave you with a picture of my "Christmas yarn"! Enjoy! Have a great weekend everybody! I'm headed over to my parents house to help my mom with decorations...she's called me about 4 times in the last few hours asking when I'm coming over. Enough blogging, gotta go!

The Silky Wool will make a gorgeous scarf! But I think I'm coveting your Christmas stash, which has put me right in the mood for mince pies, mulled wine and candy canes! :)

Posted by: Maureen at November 28, 2004 11:49 AMDon't worry about the flower. I know with the holidays coming up that projects can get a little hectic. Take your time. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait :D
Posted by: empress at November 28, 2004 09:32 PMGreat colors! I have some Koigu as well, still need to buy Silke Tweed for the Latifa scarf I am planning to make. Now I know a good substitute! Thanks! Will be keeping tabs on yours!
Posted by: MJ at November 29, 2004 02:49 PMOoh, I love the colors you settled on! They'll be beautiful. I can't wait to see your Latifa!
I had a blast meeting up with you ... have you been fondling that roving as much as I have? It's so scrumptious!
Posted by: Ann at November 30, 2004 06:27 AMOh my, that silky wool is gorgeous! Some of those must be new colors - I would never have been able to resist that pink! ;0) That scarf is going to be stunning.
