No knitting content, but look at the group of fun girls that I went to a Denver Nuggets game with tonight!!I'm not a big sports fan (unlike 2 of the girls who were sportin' Nuggets gear), but I like the experience of sitting in an arena with all those people and watching a game. It was great because I love watching people...and there are some freaky/interesting people at sports events.

And look who came to the game too...her very first professional sporting event! It's my almost 4 month old niece!! Isn't she precious?! You don't have to answer that...I already know it!! It was so funny watching her watch the crowd, her eyes got all big, and she didn't cry at all. Towards the end she even fell asleep!

I almost busted out my knitting at one point because I was getting a little bored, but I just couldn't do it. Do you have places that you still won't knit in public? I think a basketball game is one of them for me. The way the seats are arranged, I felt too exposed. I can't really explain it, but I did knit all the way home on the train. I restarted my "wavy" scarf...more details on that later;-)
Posted by Stacey at December 6, 2004 10:26 PMI don't let sporting events stop me ... twice I've been seen knitting at the hockey game (Go Riverdogs!) and this Sunday I'm going to the 'Skins/Eagles game and ... you guessed it ... I will be knitting!!!!!

I'm the same way with sports. I don't watch any on tv unless I'm REALLY bored, but going to a game is so much fun! I can really get into it even if I don't really care. Your neice is a cutie btw!
Posted by: Vicki at December 8, 2004 08:56 PMI knit at an NBA game once, and I think I know what you mean about feeling overexposed. When I knit at the theater or the movies, the seat in front of me partially obscures my hands so I'm not really calling attention to myself. At the Charlotte Coliseum, the seating is very steep like it is rising straight up from the floor. The back of the seat in front of you is below your knees so everyone can see what you are doing. Also, I have this paranoid fear that I am going to drop my knitting and it is going to bounce quickly down those steep steps and onto the basketball court!
