I know that this pattern has made the rounds before, but I am just fascinated by it! I am thinking that I need to make one! Wouldn't seeing someone walk down the street with a breakfast plate purse make you smile. I know it would for me. Libby made one last Christmas for a friend, check it out! Here's my mini-stash inhancement, I say mini because it was so cheap...some of the yarn only cost 89 cents! What? Yarn for less than a dollar?! This bag just screams to be made with acrylic yarn, doesn't it?

Yeah Baby!! Let me know if we should make this a knit along, or if anyone wants to make a button for it, or has some ideas for a button?! I'm going to start "cooking" mine after the New Year!
Hey I am in with you on a knit along for this bag. I am only going to make the bag thought not the hat. lol
I won't be able to make it until the first of the year either.
Posted by: Nyxxie at December 29, 2004 11:33 AMHehe..that is ABSOLUTELY priceless. I hope there's a knitalong for it. I'd have a blast looking at all the fo's!
Happy holidays to you and yours, Stacey. It's a pleasure reading your blog and hosting you!
Best wishes,
Becky
haha - that is awesome! the bag actually might be pretty funny - too bad sex and the city isn't still on, cause how much you wanna bet carrie would carry it?! :)
Posted by: melissa j at December 29, 2004 12:22 PMI love this bag, I would definitely think about making it. Lib and I also had an idea for a bikini to match- two fried egg boobs and some sausage on the bottoms? Yah baby.
Posted by: Cathi at December 29, 2004 12:35 PMHmmm... I'm tempted! I was just looking at that bag in Libby's gallery today. I remember seeing it when others posted about it last year sometime. So what yarn would you all recommend? If I can find some cheap yarn at Michaels that would work, I might be talked into joining you.
Posted by: alison at December 29, 2004 08:46 PMHey there! I have been thinking about a knit-a-long where you pick a vintage pattern, the tackier the better, then you have to take a picture of yourself with it. Perhaps even pose like the model is in the original! I wouldn't want to waste "good yarn" though. It would have to be 100% Acrylic yuck
Posted by: Beth at December 30, 2004 02:03 PMOk, I WOULD WEAR the hat and carry the purse too. I have no shame! Nice to see you back writting your blogs Stacey!
Posted by: N閦 at December 30, 2004 11:39 PMGoodness, you should DEFINITELY make this a knit along, I would love to make one of those bags. Thanks for the pattern!
Posted by: Emmi at December 31, 2004 04:59 PMHappy New Year, Stacey!
Posted by: Tam at December 31, 2004 07:21 PMWay too crazy for me, Stacey! I'd rather eat my eggs and sausage than wear them! Cute jammies, too. Have a happy, blessed New Year!
