Fried Up and ready to go!

That title is so cheesy but man, I love it when I crack myself up. Ok...I can see it already that almost everything that has to do with this knitalong is going to silly, but that's going to be half the fun! So far the response has been good, many people saying they've wanted to knit this, but weren't brave enough. Some saying this is just what they needed after the holidays...so let's talk about yarn selection. Leave a comment about what type of yarn you are going to use, or email me. Also, let me know if your name isn't in the sidebar and you are knitting along with us!!

So this is the very first button that I have ever made...not the slickest, but it will work. Take it if you want, and if any one wants to come up with another one, have at it! If you put this button on your blog, just link it back to me here at Sheep in the City.
FryUpButton

I'll let everyone know what yarn I have decided to use as soon as possible! We will officially start on February 1! Here's the pattern.

Hey I am going to do this knit along with you all as well.

I suppose I can't resist, can I? :P (I feel the fry-up's bizarre attraction calling me...) Sure, I'll join in! I haven't got a clue what yarn I'll be using yet, but I'm sure I can find something!

I'm not sure what kind of yarn I'll be using, but I assume some sort of acrylic. I think a pattern like this has to be done in acrylic... I need to go yarn shopping :)

very cute button btw!

I'm going to check my stash first for cheapie acrylics in appropriate colors (I have green acrylic from the thrift store! I'm totally making green eggs now!) and maybe head over to Michael's or AC Moore for inspiration if my stash lacks it. I love the button. I put it on my blog & linked to yours... I wasn't sure if I should link it or not or where to link it to, so I decided on that... let me know if I should change that. Excitement abounds. :)

Add me to your knit-a-long too please, looks like fun!

Hey Stacey -- Thanks for the thanks! (I'm a dork for saying that) -- No prob, and I'll post about it soon in case you need some more -- just thought you could use a little pink yarn to brighten your day upon your return! :) I'm excited to belong to RAOK, I think it'll be great. And, if I weren't being pulled in so many directions by my current WIPs, I'd think about your knitalong, as it's going to be loads of fun for you all ... for now, I'll have to live vicariously. Take care, Jenifer

I would like to join this knit along! it is too funny --- some questions: what are the chips? and I don't see any peas ....

I'm with Lori and Sarah, this calls for acrylic. When my husband gets back from his business trip, I'm going to let him loose in Joann Fabrics and let him pick out his favorite color. Last time I did that he came back with hunter orange. This should be fun :)

OK, I'm in, too. I need something for Purim, anyway. I'll have to check the stash for acrylics; otherwise I'll have to quickly spin somethings up for this. May have to rethink the bacon though--that won't really fly in Israel.

Hi Stacey,

Count me in as well for this bizarre fry-up project. Has anyone really thought about wearing the hat & purse combo together in public?

Knit wearable food - I love it!

Oh, ladies, what a SPLENDID knit-a-long!
Please put my name down for it too!
:)

I thought I had better confess. I have joined the fry-up knitalong - I have bought all the yarn - I am ready to go!

...but wait!! I have never joined a knit-along before - what do I do now? Do I just get on with it? Will there be the crack of a starting pistol?

Sorry for my ignorance, but I don't know when to start and I don't want to step outta line :)

Okay I have to do this. I used to be able to knit as a kid. I made a jumper, but I've not bothered do anything since, I just do every other craft going. This looks easy enough, and it's made in small enough pieces and is silly enough to keep me interested (I get distracted easily.)

Count me in.
