Do you ever have one of those projects that seems to take you forever to knit, and then when you read other blogs and hear them talk about it...it's like it was the easiest project for everyone except you! That's what Wavy has been for me. It seems like I just couldn't make much progress on it in one sitting. The pattern was just different enough that I couldn't memorize it, no matter how I tried. But it's done now and I am very pleased about how it turned out! Hopefully the gal I knitted it for likes it! Here are the stats:
Yarn: Cascade Quatro- 2 skeins
Needles: (my favorite metal straight needle by INOX) size 7
Pattern: Wavy from the Winter issue of Knittty
Designer: Sarah Smith
I'm trying to decide if I would ever attempt to knit one for myself? I'm thinking it's a maybe...I did like working with the Quatro yarn, and I hear that they have a pink shade that seems right up my alley. What do you think, does this work for me or what?!

Thanks a lot! Now I have to make this too! Love love love it!
Posted by: beth at February 3, 2005 03:28 PMYour wavy looks great (and the pink color is fabulous)! I hear you about the knitting timing disconnect thing. It took me FOREVER to knit up Clapotis, it seemed to go on and on and on,... while others were like, "This is such a quick knit! If I weren't working on 15 bazillion other projects at the same time I could have this done in less than a week." Yah, well,... they all can bite me! ;)
This is how I feel about all thing knit-wise today.
Posted by: Heather at February 3, 2005 05:05 PMOoh, such pretty colors! The blues and the pinks. It's nice to see that the waves are still quite visible despite the tweedy coloring of the yarn.
Posted by: Toni at February 3, 2005 05:12 PMhey there nice pic ;) looks great!!
i am loving the wavy scarf. i have some solid pink 220 in my stash that i was thinking of using for that. but i like the quatro much better. i think i will use the pink for the button hole bag over at mason dixon.
no alias last night. boo.
Posted by: amy at February 3, 2005 05:16 PMAt least you got through it. And it does look good. You HAVE to make one in that pink. I always encourage pink projects though lol
Posted by: Vicki at February 3, 2005 06:31 PMYour Wavy looks great! You should totally make one for yourself. I wear mine all the time. And yes, I knit mine quickly, but I also don't have a job. Guilty!
Posted by: carolyn at February 3, 2005 07:55 PMSo the consensus is that I should make myself a pink Wavy...I'm leaning that way more and more! Thanks for all the encouragement!!
Posted by: Stacey at February 3, 2005 09:01 PMYou would look great in the pink! I can't quite tell from the picture, is it a little pink-orange thing going on? It looks really cheerful.
And yeah, I gotta chime in on my slow-as-molasses project... Clapotis. I got lapped by some folks at my LYS who were making more than one. I felt like I was trudging through the desert. And now, I'm where you are... I liked the end result so much I want one for myself, but do I really want to go through that again??
Posted by: Ann at February 4, 2005 06:05 AMThe pink is great! You should definitely go for it! and your finished one looks beautiful :-)
Posted by: Shelby at February 4, 2005 07:09 AMUm...yeah. That's exactly how I feel about Ribby. All I hear is 'this sweater practically knits itself. All while I'm frogging the front panels for the 3rd time!
Posted by: jen at February 4, 2005 07:54 AMIt turned out great! Congratulations.
Posted by: Michelle at February 4, 2005 03:49 PMHi !
Your wavy is great, I love the colours. Thank you for having joined the KAL,
Uta
Beautiful. Definite YES on the pink. I have a poncho I've started in ribbon that only has a 2 stitch yarn over pattern... and while I can "memorize" the stitch, my fingers have other ideas. i've frogged that sucker more times than Sisyphus pushed that rock. You can do it!
Posted by: Dana at February 7, 2005 11:51 PMyour scarf is wonderful. i have knit almost 10 inches of this pattern TWICE .. frogged both times thinking it looked like a long nothing! .. did the pattern show itself sooner than mine does? i am having the hardest time but hearing your efforts makes mine feel better so thank you!
