Calling all Sockapalooza People!

AllSocks.jpg

So...I have had trouble deciding what kind of yarn to use for my sockapalooza socks and I need to make a decision ASAP since they need to be done on March 15! So help me out ladies and gentlemen!!! I have dug into my personal sock yarn stash (have I told you how addictive sock yarn is to buy, umm yeah, it is!) because luckily I am knitting for someone with the same taste as me. Nice, thanks Alison, I love happy accidents like that. So here are some closeup pictures of the 5 choices, and then you can vote at the bottom. Interlacements, Koigu, Regia, Bonkers, and Opal. I want to thank you for coming out to the polls today, and showing me your support! The polls will be closing at noon on Saturday, because...well...I need to get these puppies started!

*comments are, as always, optional but I'd love to hear who voted for what!!*

i voted for the bonkers because i think i'd want socks out of that yarn- it looks REALLY pretty, yo!

I was going to choose Regia so we could make the same pair together. But when I saw Bonkers - I had to vote for that! Probably the same reason that rachel m gave. We can do our socks another time! See you tonight.

I also voted for the bonkers because I have never heard of it- and "dragonfly" colorway sounds so pretty!

Fun blogpoll!

I'm not in the Sockapalooza, but I had to vote. Everytime I saw one and decided that it was definitely THE ONE, I'd click on the next and change my mind. You have a good stash there! It is easy cause you don't have to buy like 90 skeins at once. Can't wait to see what you decide on :)

I voted for the Interlacement Toastie toes, but it was really a toss up between that and the Koigu. They're both wonderful.

my favorite is interlacements - then opal & regia. so if i were you, i'd keep those 3 & knit them for myself!!!

but i voted for interlacements, mainly to see how it knits up :-)

good luck!

If you don't use the Toastie Toes can I have it? Pretty please ! ;-]

I'm not a sock knitter,(usually)... but I think you can never go wrong with Koigu (and yours is in such nice colors).

The color of the Interlacements is absolutely gorgeous. The look of softness comes right through the photograph. It looks like the Koigu is winning out, though.

That KPPPM is beautiful! I'm not usually a fan of bright multis like that, but now I'm thinking about trying to track down that color.

Personally, on the receiving end, I'd want a pair of socks from Interlacements or Toasty Toes. Thus, the vote for Toasty Toes. :) Have a nice weekend (as my sockapalooza socks drag on ... )

I voted for the opal...'cause it's in my stash and I want to see it knit.

I have and love that Regia...but I had to go with the Interlacements. My god, is that a pretty yarn.

I voted for Koigu. That is what I am using (different color way) for my sockapaloosa socks. It has been fun to work with and they look beautiful!

Bonkers! I think the others look pretty predictable, but the bonkers.... I can't tell what it might look like knit up. So mysterious.... I'd have to see! (They are all great yarns though)

Hmm.. I think I'm too late, but I went ahead and put in my vote for the Toasty Toes. I'm biased, since I love loud socks, but I think that was my favorite of your yarn options (the Koigu was a very close second, though).

I voted for Bonkers. Never worked with it though. I considerd Toastie Toes but the socks would be so thick that they would likely not fit inside a shoe? I guess that's sort of my deciding factor. Koigu would also be good.

I am late as always but I am known for giving my 2cents anyways so here it is :)

I love the Opal. LOVE the Opal! And never used Koigu (one day I tell you, one day!!) but.... really to make a decision we need to know what kind of pattern you are thinking of?

Posted by: stinkerbell at February 7, 2005 11:18 AM

wait a second hold the presses- I loved teh "looks like Opal, but I am not sure so I can be sure to put it my knit me into socks one day list" pink and orangey yarn in the photo :)

the rest are pretty too... including the Koigu, but the pink and orangey/yellow I like that one!
