So I have been biten by the design bug too, I guess. I went to a meeting yesterday all about COBRA, (can you feel the excitment) and to help me concentrate I started doodling. This is something that I do in meetings, always have, probably always will. So why now? Well...I am surrounded by some of the most creative girls at the Littleton Meet-Up. I totally blame Libby, she's the one who started this whole thing. She has been published twice in Knitty (yes I am a name dropper), and now we all want to be cool and published too!Ok, I can only speak for myself, but Cathi and Brynne have both cast on and started super-secret projects this week. Go check them out! They already have little swatches knit up...these girls don't mess around! I love the big blank sketch books that I always used in my art classes when I was in school, now I'm on a mission to get another one for my design ideas. What perfect timing that tonight is the first meeting of the newly started Littleton Stitch 'n Bitch and we are meeting at Tattered Cover bookstore that just opened up in Highlands Ranch. I love this bookstore...if you ever visit Colorado, you need to visit the original Cherry Creek store, it's 3 stories and has a really good restaurant on the 4th floor called '4th Story'. So I had wanted to have some kind of picture to show you today, but I'm struggling in the creative picture department...so all you get is a progress picture of my first sockapalooza sock. I'm knitting the Crusoe sock from Knitty.
Have I mentioned how much I like knitting with my Pony Pearl double points!! I love them! And they match my knitting project, not that that's why I bought them;-) I'll discuss more later, it's time to get to work! And maybe by later today, I'll have decided what to name my new iBook...so it's not too late to send me your suggestions!!
Yes - The Tattered Cover bookstore is great - I have purchased so many books from there! I can't wait to see your knitting "designs" published soon. The socks are looking great - keep up the good work!
P.S. - I am so sorry that I had to miss the Sew UP this past weekend! Ms. Néz
I love the way the Koigu is knitting up... so, so very pretty.

Posted by: Vicki at February 17, 2005 05:55 PMVery pretty sock! Crusoe is a real favorite among the sockapaloozers. It shows of the variegated yarns so well.
Posted by: alison at February 18, 2005 10:19 AMYour sock start is lovely! I am planning on starting some socks very soon...the pressure's on, as my knitting group has started a little sock-along for February, and I think i'm the only one who hasn't started yet...I just got the Panther OS for my Mac, and I named it (totally on a whim, no forthought or anything) Daphne. Cannot explain it. Sometimes these things just happen...
Oooooh, pretty colorway on that sock. Whimsical!
I'm seriously drawn to that Fry Up bag. Seeing the knitalong gallery of finished objects is going to be a blast!
