Fry-Update

As I was looking through blogs this weekend I noticed one thing...everyone is cookin' right along on their Fry-Up! I need to get my stuff together and work on mine, bad knitalong leader! So I barely touched mine again this week, and there really aren't any worthy pictures. I have been knitting on my Sockapalooza socks, and they win out since there is a deadline! But I did find this...a waitress who has flipped a pancake onto her head! Anyone brave enough to knit a pancake hat?! (sorry for the crappy copy...I'm going to try to find a scanner that I can use and redo it, but I didn't want to hold the post just for that!)

So here's what's happening in your neck of the woods:

Megan has her beret done...and I don't have the words to describe the photo of her husband wearing his new hat...what a guy! I love that she made this for her husband and that he will actually wear it!
Lori's almost finished her purse.Scroll down to her February 16th entry to see it!!
Ann has left the country, hopefully she didn't leave just to get away from her Fry-Up. Last wednesday she didn't know if she would ever get it done. I think it looks great, but you know when you get to a certain point in a project and you totally lose interest and motivation? She had reached that point. But, what she's done so far looks great! Keep going Ann, you're almost there!!
Ali has her beret all put together, but she thinks it needs a little something extra. Go over and let her know if she needs a pancake (she could definitely pull off the pancake), some SPAM, or maybe something she hasn't even thought of yet!
Sarah has finished the base of her purse after a little bit of ripping and some encouragement from you guys! Way to go Sarah!
Nyxxie has a great new look over at her blog, go check it out...and scroll down to the February 18th to see her fried egg progress.
Mozemen has her's put together, but she's waiting until she gets back from her trip to unveil it, right now it's looking a little bit inside out. That's it! If you don't see your update here, send me an email!!

And, just what I alway's needed to do...join another knitalong! But, this is different...my mom, and RayLynn and I are all going to knit a Clapotis while we are vacationing in L.A.! Fun, huh?! Here's the yarn that I've had in my stash for over a year and haven't known what to do with it! It's Interlacements Texas...and I don't have the band with me to tell you the specific stats on the yarn right now, so a picture will have to do! I have three skeins, and I'm thinking that it will only take 1 and a little bit...because these skeins are HUGE!! We'll see!! As I see these being knit up all over blogland, I really want to start mine! But I'm going to wait for the trip...and get my Fry-Up and Sockapalooza socks done first!! You heard it here...hold me to it!

Ooh, a vacay knit-along. Sounds like fun, where do I sign up? Oh yeah, in my dreams. Great yarns :)

I love the colourway you have for Clapotis! Can't wait to see your finished project.

I mean, um, have fun finishing the fry-up and socks. You don't want to start a Clapper yet. Nope, you sure don't. :)

Ooooh. I love your Interlacements yarn. Any thoughts on which color you'll pick ('cause they'd all look great!)?

It looks different in the pic, are you sure you didn't buy more yarn? :P Just joking with you. I can't wait to see your Clapotis, that's so great that all three of you will work on it together. I hope to see a beach knitting shot!

Duh, I just realized how cheesy that was...the Beachs at the beach!

OK, the funny thing is, all of these are the same colorway! It just looks different when it's wound down into a ball. I bought it a year or two ago with some Christmas money to make a sweater, but then I decided I didn't want a varigated sweater. So a clapotis it will be!!!

Haha, Cathi...you even saw this yarn in person, but I guess it was kinda dark down where my stash is at! Me? Buy more yarn?

The yarn that I'm using for my Clapotis is Interlacements Texas. It is 55% Mohair, 45% Wool. There is 490 yards per skein, and the color is #206.

you're right --- I have lost the will to Fry-Up. I have reached the critical point of the project -- I need to buy fabric to line my Fry Up as well as the zipper. This could be a death knell! But I shall try to stay strong and on task!
