Happy Easter everyone! I got a little taste of easter goodies early this year. After spending my day off of work friday with RayLynn, yarn shopping and seeing The Upside of Anger (great character movie by the way, loved it!!) I headed over to Cathi's house for a little bit of knitting with the Mile High City Knitters. Knitting, peeps, and a lap cat (courtesy of Cathi's sweet kitty) made for the perfect evening. Lots of laughter and goofiness led to me not getting home until almost 1:00am!! But it was so worth it! You know it's a good group when people put their knitting away, but then don't leave for an hour or so because they're too busy chatting! Here are just a few of the goofy pictures I took:

Cathi posing with her new yarn that I picked up while in California. Have I ever said how fun it is to shop with someone elses money...well...it is!!

Here is Michelle posing inside of her finished, but unfelted, My Constant Companion bag. It was huge! But it's going to look great Michelle!!
I love knitting groups! If you don't meet with a group of knitters in your town, I suggest you start something! There is something so fun about getting out of your own house, and meeting up with fellow knitters. You can share ideas, laugh, get help with problem projects, and have an all around great time. I have a bunch of different groups that I go to...4 to be exact, 2 of which I started. So if you need help getting a group started, I have lots of ideas!! Happy Easter everyone!!!

Posted by: Ms. Néz at March 27, 2005 09:44 PMKat: One of the great online resources for setting up a knitting group is Meetup.com They do most of the work for you, it's great! My group, if you wanted to look at it as an example, is called the Littleton Knitting Meetup. This group has turned out to be a great group of ladies, and the highlight of my month. We currently meet just once a month. The other group I started was through my church. I was having so much fun knitting that I wanted to be able to share that with others, so all of last year we met twice a month. Now that I have a core group of women who come, we meet once a month at a local coffee shop. This has now branched off to include (in the coming months, it hasn't started yet) a "girls" knitting club. One of my sunday school students, she's 7, has learned to knit and we are going to co-host it together once a month on a saturday. There are so many ideas...lots better than what I've come up with...but let me know what you decide to do!!
Posted by: Stacey at March 28, 2005 12:01 PMThanks for the tips! I'm going to check into it and most likely run an ad in my local paper, or something. What am I getting myself into? but it sounds fun. lol
