So I was meeting some friends at one of my favorite local book stores, The Tattered Cover, the other day, casually looking through the knitting section...and what jumped off the shelf and into my hands? It's Stephanie's book! You know...the bookbookbook that she has been writing. I checked just yesterday on Amazon and it still wasn't available, so the local book store wins out again! You may notice something a little odd about the picture...hmmm...you're not seeing double! I bought the only two copies that they had. Some people might think that this is a little bit selfish on my part, to not leave any copies for any other Denver knitters that might be searching for it. Well...I was caught up in the excitement of finding it, and honestly I was thinking of no one but myself! I gave the second copy to my mom this morning along with her stitch markers, which brings me to my next topic. Something else is lurking in the picture above. Click on the tin below to see a closeup of what's inside, and be prepared to shortly there after place an order...you won't be able to resist!

It's stitch markers from the amazingly talented Amy Secrest! You can buy her stitch markers at her little online shop called, Amyville. My mom and I went together and bought some. Each of us getting donuts and cupcakes, and splitting the chocolate bites! They are just too cute! And I just know that they are going to make my knitting go much faster, because you know, I have always been motivated by food!! :-)

You better believe that I immediately put them on my Clapotis! Here's a picture of a real mini cupcake and the stitch marker...people at work think that I'm crazy taking weird pictures all the time!! I have a knitalong summary/update mostly written, so stay tuned all you fry-up gals!! It is coming! In the meantime, I'm going to eat cupcakes, knit, and occasionally stop between bites to "meditate" with my new book!!
I'm so jealous you got your book before I did. :D I ordered mine off of Amazon but it won't ship until next week.
The stitch markers are awsome.
That's so cool that you found the bookbookbook! I haven't even had a chance to look. Clapotis looks lovely...mmMMmmMmm Cupcakes and those stitch markers are a real incentive to keep plugging away at that wrap. Fun stuff!

Posted by: ann at March 29, 2005 04:11 PMAnn...I got it at one of my all time favorite stores here in Denver called 5 Green Boxes. I bought it a while ago, but they have little gift items like this all the time. I'll check for ya!
Posted by: Stacey at March 29, 2005 04:36 PMlove those stitch markers.I really like the tin you keep them in too.
Posted by: cara at March 29, 2005 05:19 PMThat Amy is great! I don't know if it'd work for me, I'd get to a stitch marker and have a strange need to stop knitting for a snack lol. SO CUTE! That book has to be amazing, I must venture to a book store someday soon.
Posted by: Vicki at March 29, 2005 07:27 PMI've been lurking around your blog for about 6 months (you probably know this if you monitor your traffic at all...lol) and decided to unlurk for a couple of reasons.
First, I had a fabulous half hour reading of your travels and adventures to California. It looks like you had a fabulous time, and you've got a wonderfully close-knit (pun intended) family. Thanks for an always enjoyable read.
Second, I feel obligated to note somewhere that it's not only Amazon that doesn't have the bookbookbook. Mine's been preordered since the first day we could...but I was in Border's *and* B. Dalton's in Traverse City, Michigan on Saturday, and they didn't even have it in their systems yet, never mind on their shelves! I heard rumour that Barnes & Noble had it, but I'm kinda glad that the littler booksellers, the independents, are getting a crack at it first too!
Thanks for keepin' it real!
Blessings,
Snooze
I have Amy's donut stitch markers, love them!!
Posted by: P-la at March 29, 2005 08:26 PMI think I need the donut stitch markers too! :) I love the color in your Clapotis.
Posted by: Stacie at March 29, 2005 10:28 PMHey Stacey,
I had a great time out with you and Genia, we should definitely get together again soon.
Your blog is great, I've added it to my bookmarks, I'll be sure to visit frequently!

Posted by: amy at March 30, 2005 11:53 AMThanks for the heads-up on the bookbookbook. I couldn't find it at the Tattered in HR, but B&N had it. I was greedy and bought two too! But they pulled those two off the truck, so they had a shipment of it, so I didn't feel too badly. Come visit my blog when you have a moment!
Posted by: Wanda at March 31, 2005 04:41 PMScrew the book (well, not really. I do sort of like it and am very grateful that you bought it, twice even)
I want those stitchmarkers!
