I think that this is a common occurance for knitters who are finishing up projects...to dream about the next project that is. It doesn't hurt to think about it, right? It's not like I have cast on for anything. I have only joined one new knitalong in the last few days since flapping my jaws about finishing old projects. I have been eyeing the Flower Basket girls for some time now, and I have some, if not all, of the yarn in the stash! (bonus!) Speaking of stash, I'm feeling a little vunerable here after showing my stash to everyone. I've even thought of taking the pictures down...I can't explain why, but I feel kind of like I have told the whole world a huge secret, and now what? I have a lot of yarn, and I do someday want to own my own yarn shop, so maybe I'll just tell myself that this is my way of starting my inventory...or something! Ha! Thanks for all the comments ladies, you too could have this much yarn if you just visit your local yarn shop on a regular basis!!
Next up in the cue:
•Strawberry Hat for Alice, my niece. I made one for one of the dozen baby showers that my sister had, but then I was told, by my sister, to give it to our cousins brand new baby, so I did. Here's a picture of Alyssa sporting the strawberry hat I made.

Awww, what a cute family! My sister, of course, still wants me to knit one for Alice, so what's a good aunt to do? And besides, who can resist this face.
•Rogue: (you can find the amazing pattern at Girl From Auntie)
Cathi and Michelle and I decided that we would all knit Rogue together. We'll be our own little support group! This is a project that I wouldn't knit for a while, but I need to gear myself up for. I'm thinking about knitting it out of Peace Fleece. I've wanted to try this yarn for a while now. Has anyone used it, or have an opinion about it? I'm thinking of going with either the Georgia Rose or Buffalo Brownski for mine. Thoughts? (Besides the fact that I never need to buy anymore yarn...but I probably will!)
•Sweater from Rowan's Plaid collection. I received some from my parents last year for my birthday in color #164, Sea Thistle. The practical side of my brain says I should knit this because I already have the yarn...what a concept! I am thinking of knitting either Tidal Wave or Spray.
•The more I see people making mitered square afghans, the more I want to get started on one for myself. I have been hoarding Cotton Classic for a while now. I'm thinking that this would be a great portable project to bring to work. Grab a couple colors from the stash, and go.
Of course, none of these are going to be started until I FINISH some other stuff first! So, for now, these projects live only in my dreams.
Posted by Stacey at April 4, 2005 05:10 AMI have a lot of dream projects living in my head, too. I'm starting to reach the end of a lot of my progress projects and it's going to be interesting to see which "dream" project wins out this time around.
Posted by: sarah b. at April 4, 2005 07:21 AMcool projects in que! and your hat looks great and that is such a cute fam photo.
Posted by: froggy at April 4, 2005 07:22 AMYes, Plaid! Now! Peace Fleece seems a bit big for Rogue (4 spi vs 4.5).
Posted by: Lauren at April 4, 2005 07:32 AMOh yeah. I'm *always* thinking about what's coming next in the lineup. [And far too often, stashing and re-stashing for what I think should come next.] If I were a faster knitter, this might not be such a problem.
That is one CUTE strawberry hat! Love it. Also love Tidal Wave. Plaid is yummy.
Posted by: Ann at April 4, 2005 07:59 AMI just love that Strawberry Hat pattern--I've made several, plus adapted it for a pumpkin hat. :) You must make one for Alice!
Posted by: Stacie at April 4, 2005 08:53 AMit's ok... we're all envious, not thinking you're crazy! I think you should be PROUD of your stash. I love the hat!! Adorable!
Posted by: Cyn at April 4, 2005 09:53 AMI've been thinking of Rogue, too... and in Peace Fleece (Sheplova Mushroom), as well. We must be sharing the same wavelength.
Posted by: Leisel at April 4, 2005 10:28 AMAwwww...that strawberry hat is too cute! I want one too! J/K
I love the Rogue, one of these days I'll have to get the pattern and knit one myself. As far as the Rowan is concerned, I like the Tidal Wave...you reminded me that I wanted to make that sweater.
Don't be ashamed of your stash...sometimes I wish that I had more to choose from, so I get a little jealous of those with big ones!
Posted by: Christie at April 4, 2005 11:15 AMOh. My. Goodness! That strawberry hat is so cute! Can't wait to see what pops up on your blog soon, with all the cool projects you're looking at starting! :)
Posted by: Meredith at April 4, 2005 11:50 AMThat colorway of Peace Fleece that I could not remember the name of on Friday is called "Grass Roots". Really leaning that way.
Don't worry about your stash. You just like having variety and a good selection at the tip of your fingers. There's nothing wrong with that. Besides, you keep it so dang organized how could you possibly be embarassed.
Posted by: Michelle at April 4, 2005 01:10 PMIt's not called "flash"ing for nothing! Don't be ashamed, your stash is great. So many great choices of projects. I've wanted to try Peace Fleece for a while, thedy have such amazing colors. And of course who can resist a good Rowan project? :)
Posted by: Vicki at April 4, 2005 02:42 PMaren't those fruit hats the best?! I too have made a bunch - my favorite was the berry pattern from Fiber Trends
Posted by: ann at April 5, 2005 06:02 AMPeace Fleece is awesome! The colors are so very rich & saturated!! I haven't seen a color yet that I haven't loved. Good luck on the Rogue. That is on my list of things to do!
Posted by: Kary at April 6, 2005 04:56 AMWhere did you get the pattern for the Strawberry hat? I have a bunch of baby showers coming up and that would be perfect - it's so cute!
:)
Oooh ... I just met with some other ladies this week who are going to make Rogue and I'm jumping in, too! I've had the yarn set aside, and I was going to start later this summer (in prep for early fall thinking) but I went and bought the pattern yesterday! We'll talk about this later ... Jenifer
Posted by: Jenifer at April 8, 2005 12:18 AMMegan- I think the pattern is by Ann Norling...I'll have to look it up for sure when I get home from work! It was a really cute, super quick knit. I started it when I left Denver and had to drive to Missouri. Needless to say, the 11 hour drive gave me plenty of time to finish it! The pattern is really easy and is a great way to practice knitting with two colors!
