Knitting+U2

So...the concert was amazing! And no, I didn't take this picture...I got it from the official U2 website. Go visit for lots of cool stuff about the tour.
Seriously though, I could go see them over and over and over. There is something so timeless about their music. And boy, have they aged well. Sexy Irish boys that they are. Ahhh...what a good show. I'm so bummed though, because I brought my camera, but my brother in law thought you couldn't take them into the concert. So I left it in the car at the light rail station, and of course everyone else in the arena had their cameras, arrgh! So, I'm going to attempt to download a picture off of my cell phone. (which I have never been able to do by the way!)

Nope...didn't work,so you get a picture of the picture on my cell phone. It's of me knitting...at the concert! I didn't care that I was getting weird looks, obviously I put it away when the concert started. I'm having a hard time coming up with the words to describe the set...it was SO cool. The stage was a big elipse that went out into the crowd, people were standing in and outside of the circle. (one of my friends actually was about 4 people back from the outside circle, which means that she was a few feet from the band!) I on the other hand was up in the nosebleeds...but that's ok. I've seen them before, at previous concerts, up close and personal, so I was ok with our seats. The cool thing about all of the people sitting in the higher seating was that you had a better view of the light show. I keep thinking that they can't top the stuff that they did on the last tour...but they always do! There were 6 big curtains of light bulbs (i'm sure they weren't bulbs, but that's what they looked like to me) that would come down during certain songs and flash different images and words across them. It was cool because even when they had them all down, the people in the back could still see. I'm not doing it justice...suffice it to say that it was one of the best shows that I've ever seen. I highly recommend seeing them sometime in your lifetime.
Now, I'll always remember that I was knitting on my Clapotis at a U2 concert, ha!

ooohhhh I am so jealous! I was in Denver both nights of the concert, but unfortunately I was working so no U2 for me :( My HR manager has been to well over 100 U2 concerts...she was a groupie before she had a baby recently! It sounds like you had a great time! And Clapotis looks beautiful!

If you go to photos.yahoo.com you can upload your pictures there. Good luck!

Hi Stacey,

I was 1987 in Munich on a U2 concert. It was magnificent, because the concerts at that time still weren't so big and I was in the 3rd row quite in front! Bono quite close to me!!!! I was a big U2-Fan in the past, but after Rattle and Hum I don’t like the most of the songs anymore.

The Clapotis or better Bonopotis ;-) looks wonderful!

Ciao
Cleo

Wow -- that sounds like SO much fun!! It's been way too long since I've been to a cool concert, but I feel like I was there now (well, not really, but I loved hearing about it!)! And I love how you can remember knitting things with events and times in your life ... isn't it great?

I was knitting at a Motley Crue concert a couple of weeks ago. I don't think they've aged as well as U2.

I'm so very, very jealous! Throiugh a series of unfortunate events, I was shut out of U2 concert tix - they sold out with 3 people in front of me in line still. So frustrating! I've seen them several times before, but I want to see them again!!! I'm thinking of going the eBay route - you think upper level tix are ok? How about behind the stage - was it an open stage?

Love the stitch markers! I'm also addicted to making stitch markers and using them. Whenever I slip one from one needle to the next, it just makes me happy!

I didn't know that you went to U2!

Have you considered the U2 iPod? I'll sell you one ;)

just found your blog from someone else's that mentioned clapotis with the bonopotis perhaps, I can't remember how I got here sorry. . . anyway I was at the u2 concert Monday night - I assumer you must be in Seattle or at least saw them in Seattle. It's great to find another knitter/u2 lover! - maybe I should start a blog (speaking reflectively since I hardly have time to knit as much as I'd like. . . ) thanks again
