A weekend getaway

GroupCloseup.jpg

What a great weekend in the mountains! I had a great time with my friends and I got a little knitting in too! My sister and I drove up on Friday night, we thought that the whole weekend mght get cancelled because it had been snowing in the mountains. We had to cross over Berthoud Pass to get to where we were staying in Granby, but we made it! There were probably 25 people total on the retreat, there were 6 people in my condo. It was nice, but the funniest thing about the place was that there was a hot tub in condo...not on the deck, but in the condo. It seemed a little odd to me that my room had french doors that led right to a hot tub, right next to the living room. I played alot of games (i love Phase10 and SkipBo!!) and my Clapotis is coming along...I'm on the 10th dropped stitch. That's what my life has become, counting the time in dropped stitches!

So Secret Pal 4 was over this past weekend...and I had so much fun spoiling Lu, from Maglia!. I loved hearing her write about the packages I sent, and she took the greatest pictures! I don't know who was sending stuff to me yet...she remains a mystery! I do need to tell her again how much I enjoyed her packages...the pink package with the yummy grapefruit stuff in it, including a gift for my cat Jesse! The orange Koigu and peanut butter goodness was awesome, the iTunes gift certificate! Wow! You really spoiled me!!! Thanks so much...whoever you are!

Speaking of being spoiled, last Wednesday was Secretary's day...and my boss asks me if I would want a gift certificate at a local eating establishment, or a knit shop?! What do you think I chose? Ummm, let me think about that for a sec....ummm, the knit shop!!! So now I have some fun money to spend on a rainy day in between pay checks:) Yippee! Plus, it's at my favorite local shop, A Knitted Peace, where everybody knows your name...and they're always glad you came! Ha! That song keeps running through my head:)

I made some stitch markers over the weekend, and they are so fun, if I do say so myself! I found these little plastic charms, that are totally kitschy, but I love it! The chinese lantern is really too heavy for a stitch marker, but I may turn it into a little thing that I hook onto my scissors so that I can find them when I'm digging in my knitting goodie bag. I'm gearing up and investigating what kind of stitch markers my Bead it pal would want, I need to figure out what here favorite colors are and what kind of stuff she likes!! Sneaky, sneaky! So, there are going to be more stitch markers on display here in the next few days!

I just got the info on Back Tack, and who I'm sending stuff to! ( i love exchanges like this!!) It's time to break out the fabric stash!

Such cute stitch markers! Yes, if it's not too big a secret, I'd also like to know where you find such neat charms please. =)

Fun weekend! I'd love to get a room with a hot tub in it, but I wouldn't be there with a group of girls either ;) I love the stitch markers, I'm getting excited about bead it and back tack too. Thanks for telling us about them!

I got the charms at a local store here in Denver called Pandora. The box that they came in had this website on it: www.accoutrements.com But I think you can only buy wholesale from them. If I remember correctly I think that you can buy the charms at http://www.mcphee.com/

The chinese stitchmarkers are adorable. I think these may be my favorite of all the ones I have seen. Good job they rock.
