...my secret pal Lynette, of Chocolate and Yarn. How about that name? Two of my all time favorite things, yarn and chocolate! So, I received my final package from my secret pal on Saturday...and boy, did she go out with a bang! Here's the contents of the huge box that was in my mailbox:

First of all, she made me a Sophie bag! Can you believe it?! She knit me something...I can't stop saying it, she knit for me. Wow! (Click for a closeup of the yarn she used...let me know what yarn it is because I've never seen anything like it) I think that she could have stopped there and I would have been completely satisfied. It is knit out of a subtle varigated pink and orange (does she know me or what?) yarn...it's beautiful!!! That's not all though, oh no, she didn't stop there! She sent me 2 skeins of Lorna's Laces shepherd sock in the Bittersweet colorway, pretty stationary, a travel size grapefruit kit from Trader Joe's "Trader Zen" line, a tub of salt scrub from the same line, a cute little kitty tape measure, some Grapefruit jelly belly's, and the cutest little silver stitch markers!! I am one happy camper...I have had so much fun sending stuff to Lu and receiving things from Lynette. If you are interested in participating in the next round of the Secret Pal program that runs through the summer, you have until May 29th, so...head over and sign up!
Thank you, thank you, thank you Lynette!!
Posted by Stacey at May 9, 2005 06:19 AMWow! Score big time!!! Can't wait to find out what yarn she used for the Sophie purse. You are a very lucky girl!

Posted by: Rossana at May 9, 2005 09:57 AMI think we can officially say, that if you ever run out of stitch markers to use, that you have cast on for too many projects. Great haul!
Posted by: Cyn at May 9, 2005 10:17 AMHi Stacey!!
The yarn, you'll be surprised how simple it is, is Cascade 220, one skein of a bright pink and one skein of bright orange held together and knitted into a Sophie purse. I wanted it to be able to close, so I attached purse snaps, but needed to hide the outside, so I hot glued a couple of buttons that I had just clipped the shank off.
The stationery and pen are from Japantown in San Francisco and the kitty tape measure and stitch markers made me think of Jesse.
The grapefruit items should need no explanation...it is a favorite flavor of mine too!
For three months I looked for items in pink and orange...I am still seeing stuff that makes me think, "Stacey would like this." I, obviously, have had fun being your secret pal.
Take care,
Lynette
