It is finished!!!!

2_LoungingBytheRiver.jpg
Yes, ladies and gentlemen...my Clapotis is finely finished!! It took me three months to finish, which seems like a ridiculous amount of time, but it's done! It's going to be nice and warm this fall...but sad, for now it's being put away to wait for colder weather. While we were in Vail I decided to try and take some "scenic" pictures:) None of the ones that had me in them made the cut, but I plan on taking some pictures with RayLynn tomorrow of both of us wearing our Clapotis!! Stay tuned for the buttonhole knitting adventure pictures in the days to come, as well as fun mail pics!! Because you know, I love me some fun mail!!!

Final Stats:
Yarn-1 1/4 skeins of Interlacements Texas (those skeins are huge! They are 490 yds!!!)
Started- March 10th
Finished-May 30th
As much as I complained, I can see myself (in a while...I need a break first) knitting a lighter weight Clapotis. I love Cynthia's so much that I already have the Bamboo yarn to make another one!

I love how your Clapotis turned out! No weird pooling anywhere, and such vibrant colors!

Did you block it at all? If not, do you plan to? I ask, because I'm trying to figure out how to do mine. It (mine) looks like it could use some blocking, but I've also seen some that were too heavily blocked, and they lost the fun twist that Clapotis naturally does, and I want to keep that.

Woo hoo! congrats on finally finishing the beastie. What's up next on the needles? hope you're having a great time in Vail...but when's the next meetup, o mighty organizer?

It looks great, I'll watch out for those modelling shots

Wow - that is gorgeous. I've been reading your blog for a while now and following your progess, and you've inspired me to try out the Clapotis.

Yummy Clapotis. Maybe I should get back to mine...

Thank you for the stitch marker inspiration. I finally got my stuff out and made some.

It looks great! I've been knitting mine for just about forever too, don't feel bad. You should definitely try Bamboo, it's fun! And I'm tempted to try Interlacements, I know I'm gonna want a thicker one eventually. What is the plural of clapotis? Hm...

It looks beautiful! I felt the same way about mine--hated knitting it but loved the result. I would really like another one but I'm not sure I'm up for knitting it again yet.

It's gorgeous! Congrats on finishing it. At least it will be ready to go as soon as fall comes.

Great Clapotis! I am your Bead It 2 Secret Pal!! Love your blog! Can't wait to see what you think of your package soon!

Thanks ladies! I do have some love for the Clapotis now that it is finished:)

To answer your questions...I did not block it, and I don't think that I'm going to. I like the way it curls on the end, and it really doesn't curl that much.

Next up on the needles, well...it's time to finish a few projects that have already been on my needles for a while. Like, Koigu glovelets, Summer Tweed tank, Harry Potter scarf, etc. I have plenty of things to finish up!

And Cynthia, as far as when we are going to get together...you name it, and I'm there! I'm pretty free this weekend, I can't wait to hear about your trip to L.A.!

Hey there Stacey, it's me, your new Secret Pal! I've been a fan of your so-called scarf for a long time and I can't believe that I get to be your Secret Pal! Have a great day and you'll be hearing from me soon... And nice Clappy!

Yea yea yea! Looks great -- perfect! You'll love it as soon as cooler weather hits, and don't forget the clapo-shawl look for cooler summer nights. :)

God I love those colors. You have good taste, lady.

The Clapotis looks great! Please do post a pic of you wearing it - I'd like to see how it drapes. I'm ready to cast on for mine, in Brooks Farm "Four Play". Worsted seems so *thick* for this wrap... I'd like to see a lighter-weight version also. You do it first.
