It's amazing what you can do with a day off. I took Wednesday off from work. #1 because I have a ridiculous amount of time vacation days (that I'm very grateful for) but no where to really go. #2 because my friend Genia and I have been meaning to finish off this season of Alias (she wanted to watch them in order, so we've been watching the dvds. Of course I couldn't wait for her, sorry Genia, so I'm watching them for a second time!! Anyway, she stayed over after the big cheese fest that was my birthday, and we basically vegged...the entire day!! It was awesome! I got to look at this all day, not too bad! Nice. We took one small break to go out for reinforcements of the yarny variety. She had never been to Colorful Yarns, so we headed there, and look what I found:

Yarn to make my very own One Skein Wonder! And yes...that is two skeins you see in the picture, that's just a technicality ladies. All of the cool girls are knitting them:) We'll see if I like the way mine turns out, I can't decide if I can pull it off or not. Even if it doesn't work, I am diggin' the whole top down thing!! Here's my progress so far: (and of course all day today at work, my knitting has been taunting me from under my desk, saying "knit me, knit me!", but I restrained myself!) This little project is addictive!!

The colors look horrible in this picture, so here's a closeup. Just my colors!! I hope to finish and wear my OSW to knitting on Friday...or at least to the Wool Festival this weekend!!!
oh those colours are wonderful! what a great way to spend a day - belated happy birthday stacey!!
Hey Stace, don't forget to take lots of pictures of the Alpaca's this weekend for me!
Posted by: Genia at June 16, 2005 08:28 PMthat yarn looks absolutely yummygorgeous - it's going to be one beauty of an OSW!! I agree that the pattern is addictive - just knitted one myself, go see if you wish - and it would be great with long sleeves too,I think.
Can't wait to see yours done!! :)The color is fantastic!
Looks great Stacey! Can't wait to see it ... you can do it! Love your yarn choice.
Posted by: Jenifer at June 17, 2005 08:33 AMPretty! I think I'd have to add a couple skeins to the one skein wonder to make it fit me. Have fun this weekend. I actually heard in my lys that one of the owners is heading out there. I'll be there in spirit too. Take lots of pics for me :)
Posted by: Vicki at June 17, 2005 09:55 AMOh Vaughn....I could look at hi all day too. In fact I have all the DVD's on my netflix list!
Have you seen the finale yet? Can you believe it?
Posted by: Jenn at June 17, 2005 10:29 AMHi Stacie, Looks like you had fun and your friends seem great!.
Happy belated birthday!
NOOO, not again. You're always making me want to make the same things you're making. I have two skeins of that same yarn, in 2 different colors and had no idea what to make with it. But I also wanted to make the one skein wonder and it didn't even cross my mind to use that. Do'h. And yet I still haven't made the buttonhole bag...I can't keep up with your great ideas. Although, I did make some stitch markers! ;D
Posted by: isel at June 17, 2005 01:13 PMOooh, fabulous! Hope you had a great birthday!
I'll be at the Wool Market this weekend too! =)

Posted by: Lynne at June 18, 2005 07:16 AMHi Stacey, Thanks for the birthday wish a few days ago. Hope you had a splendid birthday as well. Looks like you've got yourself some gorgeous yarn! I'm an Alias fan too. What a cliff hanger, eh?
Posted by: Dyann at June 18, 2005 08:13 PMOooh, I've been eyeing the Patagonia Nature Cotton. What do you think of it and how it knits up? The colors are gorgeous.
Posted by: c at June 19, 2005 08:22 PMI love that Patagonia yarn you used for the OSW! I saw some in my LYS last week and it is sooo soft!
