I finally got the yarn that I am going to knit Rogue with, it's Peace Fleece Worsted in a color called "Georgia Rose". I think I'm in love!

Click here to see a closeup!
It is a really pretty mauvey/purplely/pink and it has little flecks of orange. I have been wanting to use their yarn for a long time and I think that this is the perfect project for it! There are a whole bunch of us here in Denver that are going to knit this sweater at the same time...probably starting August 1. So, if you want to join us...feel free! I'm thinking of making a list on my sidebar of participants, so let me know if you are want to knit with us. So far, it's Michelle, Cathi, Cynthia, and I think Jenifer. (plus I think that I've convinced my friend Genia to start one too:) !! With the heat of the summer, I've not really wanted to start this anytime soon...but now that I have the yarn in my hands, I may just have to "swatch" a little! It's awfully tempting! We'll see how long I can hold out!
Hi Stacey,
what a lovely color! I love it!!! I'll start to knit Rogue in late summer with a dark purple yarn. Perhaps I'll join in your knitalong!? But the weather is to hot for knitting that yarn in the moment.....

Hi, I just got my yarn for rogue too. I'd love to start in August with you all I need to finish up a few projects first!
Posted by: keri at June 23, 2005 03:03 PMI have been thinking for months to knit Rogue with Peace Fleece! Maybe this is the time and I should join you guys..
Posted by: Diana at June 23, 2005 03:10 PMI've seen that color before and obvioulsy the pink girl in me was drawn to it. It looks amazing and it'll be perfect for rogue.
Posted by: Vicki at June 23, 2005 03:24 PMSo... how long did you manage to hold out before swatching?
I bought the pattern (holy cow! it's a book!) and now I just need the yarn. Hmmm....
Posted by: Cyn at June 23, 2005 03:28 PMI made a sweater for my daughter out of Peace Fleece (Moscow Magic Pink) and loved working with it. It felt a little hemp-like at the beginning, but softened as I worked. Hint: I gave the finished sweater a bath in Eucalan and hair conditioner, and it softened up a lot. Still not next-to-the-skin soft, but much, much better, with a gorgeous halo.
Posted by: Ruth at June 23, 2005 05:11 PMthat yarn is pretty, and the bucket you photographed it in? soo cute! hope you are having a good week! i like your little sugar bag you got too.
Posted by: amy at June 23, 2005 06:32 PMI'm definitely in Stacey ... I've had the yarn for Rogue for months with the set date of next fall ... and I can't wait !! I really really love those colors ... I ordered the lighter pink from P.F. once for Lia and the colors are so pretty in their slightly speckled states. Nice choice!
Posted by: Jenifer at June 23, 2005 08:17 PMOoooh I would love to knit rogue with you in August! Unfortunately I will most likely NOT be knitting wool in August in Phoenix ARIZONA :) I like your little SP5 clue. What is it for?
Posted by: Illanna at June 23, 2005 11:28 PMI have that yarn! It's becoming an Everyday Cardigan! You will love how it knits, and how soft it becomes after you wash all the crud out of it!
Posted by: Lynne at June 24, 2005 04:38 AMThat yarn will make a stunning Rogue! I love the color of it. I eagerly look forward to reading all about your progress on that.
Take care!
Posted by: Lolly at June 24, 2005 05:59 AMGreat color and will make a lovely Rogue.

It is such an awesome sweater...the pattern is very well written! I enjoyed every stitch of my rogue!
Posted by: heather at June 24, 2005 09:19 AMI'd love to join too. I was planning to do a Rogue for my sister for christmas anyway.
Posted by: Jenn at June 24, 2005 01:45 PMStacey, this is my first time at your blog. I'm freaked out right now. The yarn you held in your hands and "almost bought" at Estes? Well, I bought it and am going to knit a felted purse. I got a wonderful berry color to go with it and am going to use that for the top and handles. Freaky.
Glad you had a good birthday...
I've had the pattern for some time now, so what the heck. Sure, I'll join in the fun. Now to find some suitable yarn...Love your bucket-o-yarn, btw! =)
Posted by: Tam at June 24, 2005 09:06 PMI love the color, that's a great one. I think you will be so happy with that color. And you forgot me in that list. I'll be joining you with some Blackwater Abbey yarn I have in my stash.
Posted by: Wanda at June 25, 2005 09:40 AMOOOhhh. Can't wait to see that yarn in person (I know I missed my chance last Friday). Looks awsome!! Does yours feel a little scratchy? Mine kinda does. I hope it softens with washing...
Posted by: Michelle at June 27, 2005 12:03 PMOkay... fill me in - what's the Rogue Sweater? I'm a HUGE Peace Fleece fan and am always looking for something to knit it into. I'll join... what does it look like?
