I had lunch with my sister, my niece, and Julie last weekend at one of our favorite Japanese restaurants here in town, Kokoro. I hadn't been in months, and I was trying to give Julie a sample of some of my favorite local places. Since I haven't posted any pictures of the world's cutest niece lately...here's one outside of Kokoro:

Over the weekend we managed to eat at:
•Kokoro-(Japanese)
•The Original Pancake House (the best breakfast around)
•Hacienda Colorado (yummy food that they call Mountain Mex) I ran into a local knitblogger that I haven't seen in months eating with her family there!! It was great seeing you Libby!!
•Romano's...my all time favorite Italian place!
mmm...lots of yummy food!

She is absolutely adorable. Your menu sounds wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like how you and baby have pinks going.
Posted by: kathy b at October 26, 2005 02:54 PMOhh, baby Alice is so cute and I love the jacket she's wearing. I'd forgotten about Romano's! I went there a few years ago with a friend and really liked it. Now, I have to go back again. Thanks for the reminder. And Kokoro is nearby me off of Evans, yum!
Posted by: Wanda at October 26, 2005 06:02 PMOh my goodness is she CUTE!
Posted by: Scout at October 26, 2005 06:32 PMWow, she is one cutie!! Lucky you, having her to spoil. :) I'm working on my first pair of felted clogs, ran into a very minor glitch, and so yay to you for your umpteenth pair. Noro Love? Sounds too good to be true ... there's so many Noros that have been discontinued. Check these out: http://cgi.ebay.com/LOVE-wool-silk-yarn-made-by-Noro-for-sale-in-Japan_W0QQitemZ8228827751QQcategoryZ36599QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Not sure where it came from ... but not available in the U.S. I wonder if it's a newer yarn, not yet released here??
Posted by: Jenifer at October 26, 2005 06:40 PMI used to go to Kokoro with a high school boyfriend and get the beef bowl. should try again sometime.
Posted by: michaele at October 26, 2005 09:10 PMThat giraffe coat is to die for!
It was good to see you too, but I honestly can't even remember what we said. Sorry I was so jittery and wierd. It was a really crazy weekend that I'll tell you about later.
By the way, I found a cheap craft store yarn called Frosting that actually looked like...frosting. Still interested in knitting up some confections? It was spendier than I anticipated, but I can't stop thinking about it, so I may sketch up a few desserts and snag a skein or two. Let me know if you feel like baking.
Posted by: Libby at October 26, 2005 10:16 PMyou know, it's too bad Alice doens't realize how freaking cute she is!! so glad you had an awesome time with Julie!
Posted by: Cyn at October 26, 2005 10:43 PMYour niece is adorable in her hat and coat! Sounds like you had fun...no cooking involved.
Posted by: wool winder at October 27, 2005 06:56 AMWhat a little cutie in all that pink! Ah, perhaps someday I will have a girl...
Where did you get the pattern for the felted clogs? As the weather turns colder I find myself "needing" just that. =)
Posted by: Faith Fiberflash at October 27, 2005 07:54 AMHey Stacey -- I asked that seller where she got her yarn -- she said, "Flat rate priority $4.00. My daughter lives in Japan and I bought it there in 2001. I have a quantity problem :-) and bought all they had and filled my suitcases with it. I am so tired of using it and every family member(27)has something in it. I have sold nearly all of it but I am getting ready to list the left over mixed colors: hot pink, orange, purple, cranberry, green, darker green, burnt orange, plum. Thanks for asking, Kit ". Interesting!
Posted by: Jenifer at October 27, 2005 08:34 AMWhat a cutie!
And I had no idea that the Original Pancake House existed outside Dallas . . . and then I find out that it's a huge chain. That's me, learnin' something new every day!
Posted by: chris at October 27, 2005 08:46 AMHoly ligonberries, Batman! I had to double-check your location because of The Original Pancake House mention. I didn't realize that this was more than a chain outside of my city, Dallas, TX! So I zipped over to their site and - gosh, golly, and gee-whiz! They're all over!
Well, I agree that they have the best breakfast, hands down.
And your niece is dern cute, ta' boot!
Posted by: Nanc at October 27, 2005 08:48 AMAwww--what a cutie! I see she has inherited her auntie's "pink" gene :) Happy knitting; see you Friday?
