**first let me say thank you to everyone who played along and put a pin in my map in the last few days! I think it's so fun to see where everyone is from!! If you still want to put a pin in my map, just look to your left and you can find the Frappr button!**

As many of you know, I love my local yarn shops. I love the yarns they carry, the cozy warm feeling that I get when I walk in the doors, and the greetings that they give me. Well, some shops just go above and beyond...and this week that shop is String, in Highlands Ranch. For weeks I have known that the Koigu was coming. I would call, or drop in once a week to see if it had arrived. Sometimes I'd just call, say,"this is Stacey, is it in yet?" and Cassidy (the owner) would sweetly tell me, "not yet".
Then Monday night I got an email from her that had IT'S HERE! in the subject line. The next morning I showed that I do indeed have some self-control and I didn't leave work at 10:00am when the shop opened, and then I had plans that evening. Ahhh! Finally Wednesday night I went by. Have you ever seen Koigu all bundled up in a big pack of 20 skeins...it's a beautiful thing. I wandered around the shop with one "bundle" for a good 10 minutes and then I slowly backed away and did the math. Nope, not in the budget. (no worries, I did get a little somethin' somethin'.) In my usual style, I needed to see the Koigu again. I went back today with my mom over my lunch hour. Oh yes, I've passed on this sickness to her. She's just as addicted to the Koigu as I am. See for yourself.

See how she's grabbing for it double-fisted style? That's one of the first signs of addiction right there. We both brought our Koigu stashes to show Cassidy, and to make sure that we didn't go completely nuts and duplicate a bunch of colors. Here's a peek at some of my mom's stash (all in little zippered plastic bags, she's so stinkin' organized!). It really is dangerous for us to go shopping together. Yes, my name is Stacey, and I'm addicted to Koigu. Isn't the first step to recovery admitting that you have a problem?
I like your mom's crocs....but I like her stash better!
Posted by: Sonya at November 17, 2005 07:05 PMAh-ha Marsha, caught you red-handed getting MORE
yarn!! Remember the cob-webs you mentioned at
brunch? Love ya!
I'm almost embarassed to admit this. I've never knit with Koigu ::hanging my head in shame::
IT almost looks to pretty to knit with!
Posted by: Scout at November 17, 2005 08:52 PMi just wish i could even afford to look at the Koigu. someday....somday!
you are so lucky!
What a great stash your mom has! Also where is String located? I can't belive that there's a LYS in Highlands Ranch that I didn't know about!
Posted by: Danielle at November 17, 2005 10:39 PMIs it weird that I keep clicking on the link to "mom's stash"? It's so pretty. Your stash is also gorgeous and it looks much more like my Koigu stash would look if I had a Koigu stash. I also love the Crocs. I have them in lime green and royal blue.
Posted by: Courtney at November 17, 2005 11:01 PMwell, if you ever need more Koigu, let me know. It is made not far from me so the LYS usually have lots! I totally understand the obsession!
Posted by: Dani at November 18, 2005 01:38 AMawww *dies* pretty yarn *dies again*
Posted by: Veronica at November 18, 2005 02:09 AMCompletely drooling.
Posted by: Lauren at November 18, 2005 08:12 AMYou keep bringing your mother over to the dark side! More additions to the Koigu stash. Hey, even if you couldn't buy alot today, at least you know it's there and you got to have a first peek at the new shipment. That's pretty good service.
Posted by: Wanda at November 18, 2005 08:36 AMGorgeous!!! Now, what are you going to DO with all that yarn? Socks? A bunch of Charlotte shawls? I too have never knit with Koigu but merely admired from afar.
Posted by: bluecanary at November 18, 2005 08:37 AMKoigu is just way too addicting!
Posted by: margene at November 18, 2005 11:52 AMI, too, confess to feeding my Mom's addictions. First knitting, then Debbie Bliss yarns, then Rowan yarns. I'm contemplating whether to introduce her to Noro or Koigo next!
Rock on!
Posted by: Brianne at November 18, 2005 12:26 PMSo, much, beautiful yarn!!
btw love your stite : )
How can one NOT fall under the spell of Koigu? I've got 3 skeins. No clue what to make. Don't care. I can take it out and fondle it whenever I want to!
Could you Frapp on my map, too? It's sad. Only 8 pins, so far.
Posted by: Laurie at November 19, 2005 10:52 AMNO FAIR! My friends and I went on a yarn crawl up in Denver last Saturday. Do you know what the MAIN thing on my list that I was hoping to find was? Koigu! Do you know what the first store we went to was? String! Not only did String not have it, but neither did any of the stores we got to (Shuttles was just too far away, and Showers acted like they'd never heard of the stuff, although I've been told they just aren't ordering any more and stashed what they had left in the back).
I can't believe that they got in a whole fresh batch of Koigu 2 days later. I'm going to go pout somewhere now.
