That's what this weekend felt like to me. On Friday, I headed downtown for a little late night knitting at the Monkey Bean with Michelle and Cynthia. (and I do mean late...I got there about 10ish and left at 1:30am-ish) By the time that I left it was snowing pretty heavily and by Saturday morning it looked like this outside:

It was the perfect day to stay home and knit, listen to Christmas music, drink hot chocolate, and cast on for my Backyard Leaf scarf...AGAIN! A huge thank you goes out to Cynthia who read me the first 10 lines of the chart so that I could get it started right this time! I owe you big time!!
Nothing like -4 degree weather now, the snow was pretty until it got so cold!! I can't wait to see updates on the shawl.
Posted by: Whitney at December 6, 2005 07:39 PMOooh, it really looks like Wooly Booger Shawl weather where you are hahahaha. It sure is pretty.
Where I am we had a bit of snow 2 weeks ago and probably won't have any anymore until January/February/March.
Have a good one, Knitting
Posted by: Knitting For Stacey at December 7, 2005 01:58 AMThe snow is so beautiful! And what great knitting weather. Some days I think I'd love an excuse to stay in and not to go to the playground. :)
Posted by: Brynne at December 7, 2005 07:12 AMBrrrrrrrrrrr. That looks COLD!
Posted by: Scout at December 7, 2005 07:49 AMThose are definitely the days to curl up at home and knit!
Posted by: Wanda at December 7, 2005 09:21 AMSorry to hear about your Charlotte's Web woes! Did you get good tips on the stitchmarkers? Don't listen to Cathi ... I swear I couldn't have done them without them. Just put a stitch marker right in between every single little 8-st repeat (were they 8-st repeats?) ... I used my daughter's TINY hair rubber bands, the kinds that are less than a half an inch wide, and they didn't seem to catch on anything. The key is that on the purl side, coming back from a lace row, you can sort of count that you have 8 sts inbetween each marker, and if you don't, then you can catch your mistakes there. When I first started my Charlotte's, I probably missed one yarnover on every row, but I caught them before the lace pattern went too crazy. good luck! Sorry I can't help on the sookie outfit, too. :)
Posted by: Jenifer at December 7, 2005 01:09 PMman that sounds like the best kinda weekend! christmas music, hot chocolate and snow, i am seriously jealous! oh and of course, knitting too!
Posted by: amy at December 7, 2005 09:23 PMMmmmm, looks so cozy. Now that I live in the south, this will be my first winter with no snow. Thankfully I'll be going home for Christmas, so hopefully it will be a white one. =) Wouldn't feel the same without it, I think.
