I must be very predictable, or you guys know me really well!! Leah of White Lamb was the first person who guessed correctly when she said I always buy a bag when I travel. I'm not sure why I do this, but it has become a tradition and I do love a good bag. Here it is folks in all it's pink glory. May I introduce you to my new Namaste bag. It's the "Everyday" bag in their new collection. I had never seen one of these before Friday when we made a stop for lunch in Salina, Kansas and I "convinced" my dad to stop over at the local yarn shop there.

Here's the stats:
•16" L x 10" H x 8" W
•inside center zippered divider, with a total of 4 pockets on the inside and 2 on the outside of the bag.
•it came in chocolate brown, hot pink, light pink, robin's egg turquoise, and a camel brown
I had mentioned the book that my friend RayLynn got me for Christmas a few posts ago, and it surely came in handy on this trip. While we were lunching in Salina I noticed that they had a yarn shop listed...who knew?! So we headed over for a quick look while my dad gased up the car. The shop is called 'Yarns: Sold and Told' and has been open since August. It's a great big open store in downtown Salina. (it's very easy to get to off I-135. Take the Crawford exit and go north on Santa Fe) The ladies who own the shop were very friendly and helpful. My mom and I managed to find a few things while we were there. (surprise, surprise) All of the things that I got were items that I hadn't seen before! A shirt that says, "Got Yarn?" in my favorite combo, brownand pink. Little pink point protectors, and some Bryspun circular needles. Not too bad for a quick stop, huh? The shop had a huge inventory of every kind of needle out there. They had a pair of HUGE needles hanging from the ceiling as a display. It was a very creative touch. Then there was Fern. She greets people as you come in the door, too cute! Here's a shot of my mom and I with our new bags. (you didn't think that I would be the only one to come home with one, did you?)

From there we headed down to Oklahoma City and we managed to go to three more yarn shops on Saturday...but more on that later. I worked on Charlotte and made some good progress until I messed up something and I can't figure it out. So, I started and almost finished a little gift for Alice. I'll have some photos tomorrow, along with the rest of my Oklahoma adventure.
Oooh...Love the bag! It's bright! I want a Got Yarn? shirt too!! I wonder if it is something you can find online? Glad you are home safe and sound and can't wait to hear more about your adventure.

Welcome back.
Yippee!! I knew it was a bag! (You must have quite a collection by now, given how much you have traveled the last few months. Won't you share a pic of your bags?) And such an awesome color!! I can't wait to here if you made it to SWAK in Guthrie. If not, maybe next trip.

Posted by: cyn at December 19, 2005 11:06 PMI knew it would be a bag, but I disqualified myself from guessing since I know you :) That bag is great; can't wait to see it in person!
Posted by: Kim at December 19, 2005 11:08 PMI love the name of that shop in Salina. Can't wait to hear of the shops in Oklahoma. My son will be attending college in Edmond, OK (near Oklahoma City) starting next fall, so I'll be in the area a few times a year. Hope you found something good!

Posted by: Wanda at December 20, 2005 11:41 AMSo fun! Can't wait to see more about your trip, and that link was dangerous- I really love that other bag that they have- I think it was called Jetsetter. Would love to see yours in person!
Posted by: Cathi at December 20, 2005 12:27 PMThe Namaste bags are gorgeous! They also come in this green a la Kate Spade shade.
Posted by: Monica at December 20, 2005 01:15 PMLovely bag.... but since I know about the amazing knitting bags you make yourself, I'm not sure why you'd ever want to buy one! I think it's so cool that you and your mom share the knitting passion. Happy holidays.
