•Charlotte: I have reached that point in Charlotte where I feel like it's not getting any bigger and I just keep knitting and knitting and knitting. I love it, don't get me wrong, but at this point I want to see it finished. I am on the 4th color (out of 5) and I have 41 rows left. Sounds like not that much, huh? Well...you have to factor in that there are now over 200 stitches on the needle. The more I type this and read it the more I sound like a whiney knitter. I hate that. I'm going to stop now.

•Fair Isle Jazz: As I have mentioned before I am knitting this project with a bunch of girls from my knitting group. I have done a little bit of Fair Isle knitting in the past, but I've been wanting to practice my technique for a while and thought that this would be a good way to do it. I knit the striped section on my trip and now I'm waiting to start the fair isle section when we get together this weekend!!

•Kate: I'm so close to being done. I just need to attach all the parts! It's my goal this weekend to finish this one and deliver it to Alice. If you haven't checked out her blog lately, you need to! She is the cutest girl around!!
•Twisted Rib Handwarmers: I started these on my last night in Arizona and haven't touched them since then. They knit up really quickly and I like the way they look...but I have been working on Charlotte for the most part any chance I get. There isn't much to take a picture of so you'll have to wait to see this one.
•ISE Scarf: Last, but not least, I'm working on my scarf for the International Scarf Exchange. I had started to knit a Backyard Leaves scarf out of Rowan Felted Tweed, but I just wasn't liking the look of it. So, I got some Rio de la Plata yarn and I like working with this much better!! It's going really quickly and I love knitting this pattern!

I'm looking forward to being home this weekend. I desperately need to clean my house and spend some quality time with my kitty. I also need to have some hang out time with my friends RayLynn and Genia, who I feel like I haven't seen in forever! I didn't remember that Monday was a day off of work for MLK until my co-workers reminded mea couple days ago. Bonus! This should be a great weekend. I have one last trip on Tuesday, this one is work related, but I'm going back down to Arizona for a leadership/board meeting. This one is pretty quick, leaving on Tuesday, flying back on Friday. Then I'm not going anywhere for a couple of months! This fall has been crazy and very unlike any other year...I never travel this much!? I think that since August I have been on 6 or 7 different trips. While it's fun to go to different places, it really makes me appreciate my home and routine. Have a great weekend everyone!!
Posted by Stacey at January 13, 2006 08:01 AMYour Charlotte is completely stunning. Hang in there!! The pattern stitch in the scarf is very fun - sort of a single basketweave?
Posted by: Chris at January 13, 2006 03:15 PMIs that the My So Called Scarf pattern? I did that out of some debbie bliss soho, loved it and I get compliments on it a lot! =)
Posted by: mimsie at January 13, 2006 03:42 PMYes, it is in fact the My So Called Scarf pattern. This is the second one that I've knit and I can tell...I'm going to need to knit myself another one in a more solid color! I do love this pattern.
Posted by: Stacey at January 13, 2006 03:45 PMNice job on that Charlotte!!!! (You deserve at least four explanation points.) Really!!!! Give yourself a break, and come back to it, and you'll be amazed at how quickly it finishes up then. I *so* have to make your scarf some day. If I lived closer to Colorful Yarns, I'd buy some, because it's on sale this month.
Posted by: Jenifer at January 13, 2006 04:19 PMI love the colors! The way they look in the picture it reminds me of fall leaves on a mountain.
Posted by: Kim at January 13, 2006 05:52 PMStacey, All of you projects look amazing. I love the so called scarf pattern. I have knit three of them with another one on the needles. I think it is great that you get to travel so much. I never go anywhere (unless you consider the Operating room somewhere. I meet lots of different people, but it's my job so it doesn't count does it?) Glad you are home and had fun. I love reading your blog. It inspires me to learn more knitting techniques. I have learned a lot from you and hope the trend continues.

Posted by: Ruthanne (in Seattle) at January 13, 2006 08:23 PMCharlotte looks fabulous...really "grown" since you left Arizona last Monday. I'm ready to start color 2 on mine tonight...or maybe not till morning. After Charlotte I definitely want to make the scarf...especially since I already have the yarn from Shuttles!
Posted by: Marsha at January 13, 2006 08:33 PMI know what you mean about the Charlotte. I have 48 rows to go on mine. It's in time out while I finish the never-ending baby blanket.
Posted by: Elabeth at January 13, 2006 09:11 PMI love your Charlotte; the colors are beautiful. And is that your hand? I'm jealous of the hand-model perfect nails. :)
Posted by: Laura at January 14, 2006 03:01 AMI reach that point on EVERY project--when it is time for it to be finished so I can wear it. Or at least take a picture of it an move on to something else.
41 rows, 200 stiches....hardly more than 8,200 to go!
Ok, maybe that was not helping.
Posted by: suzanne at January 14, 2006 07:53 AMYour Charlotte is beautiful! I'm looking forward to seeing it 'in person' soon. By the way, has your Mom started a blog yet? I'll want to watch her progress on a Charlotte, too! Marsha?????

Posted by: Jeni at January 16, 2006 01:25 PMStacey,
I got some of the Rio de la Plata yarn. Just wondering if you are having any problems with it? It seem to fuzz up alot. I am not sure if I like it or not. Maybe it is something I am doing, or a bad hank? I got it in the lt pink, lt green, violet colorway. Anyway, just wondering if you are having any problems working with it? Thanks!
Just wanted to let you know that I came across your "so called scarf" and I'm making it now. I just started knitting in November and my teacher advised me against starting this scarf (she thought it was over my head - hmmpf). But, I somehow found the same yarn (wildflowers) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pattern and the yarn. I've found it's not that hard to do, but it is HARD TO DO RIGHT! Anyway, good luck with your other projects and I'll keep checking back. Thanks for sharing!
