I did a bad, bad thing...

TouchMeTower.jpg
...but I have to say it was for a good cause. Not that my actions are justified by that but what can I say?! I guess I have no willpower. When you combine 3 skeins of GGH Touch Me Yarn, proceeds going to the Knit For Her Cure cancer research fund, and the fact that it was bubblegum pink AND in a little pink bag, what was I to do? The whole kit was $32. That's the price of 2 skeins of Touch Me normally. Even I can do the math on that one...that equals 3 for the price of 2. My friends and I joked before we bagan this whole thing that we would likely break the stashalong if we came across Touch Me and it was on sale. This was kind of a sale?! Right? Or maybe it was just a "souvenir" of Arizona? Hmmm...I'm trying to just be honest here. I need to check with Kim, the leader of the Stash-along to see if I'm kicked out of the group. I'm pretty sure that I will be. I'm not sure what happens now. But, if I was going to break my 3 month fast...at least I did it up good with a yarn like touch me. I'm going to cast on this weekend:) It's soooo soft:)

Stacey,

Definatly worth breaking the rules for. I personally have two more skeins on layaway at the LYS. I got mine in navy blue. I have yet to see the pink kit. I will have to find that one. Does it come with a pattern? I think in this case you can probably be excused for the buy. Touch me yarn at a good price is always worth it! Glad you are home and blogging once again!

OMG! I would kill for that yarn, that color. Heck, so would my Mom, who is a survivor. At any rate...Have fun knitting that up. And if you get in trouble from the stash along, you're right. It is so worth it :)

Posted by: Liz at January 21, 2006 09:36 PM

And it's even prettier in person!

Posted by: Joanne at January 21, 2006 11:57 PM

Oooh, you're in trouble! j/k But man, that Touch Me is some nice stuff. If you had to break the yarn diet, that's the stuff to do it over.

i am jealous! i have been wanting to make the vintage velvet with touch me from scarf style but everytime i think of how much it would cost i resist. had i seen that pink bag of love i would not have resisted. can't wait to see what you do with it!

Posted by: amy at January 22, 2006 01:00 AM

goooodness gracious!! pink again! i don't know what we're going to do with you stacy! i must say though...if your going to break your fast somehow...do it with PINK TOUCH ME!!!

Posted by: HarmonicSpectrum at January 22, 2006 01:07 AM

I would be surprised if ANYONE were able to resist that yarn.

Posted by: Brynne at January 22, 2006 03:00 AM

Guess we'll have another council meeting to see whether to let you stay or boot you off! It's beginning to sound like Survivor ;-)

Posted by: Marina at January 22, 2006 05:48 AM

I love that yarn. Love. It. And it was definitely worth breaking the stash-along rules.

Posted by: jae at January 22, 2006 06:39 AM

The yarn is beautiful, and it was for a worthy cause after all.
I think you did good. ;)

Posted by: Pam at January 22, 2006 06:57 AM

Well, you lasted 3 weeks. That's not toooooo bad, right?! Heh, Marina - it is beginning to sound like Survivor. Of course, if we vote her to stay, we're all going to run out and try to find these kits, right?! :D

Posted by: Chris at January 22, 2006 07:47 AM

I agree with all the ladies, if there were ever a reason to break the rules, this was it. I love the colour and it looks soooooo soft.

Posted by: Sam at January 22, 2006 08:57 AM

Oh my that is just beyond WONDERFUL-- Where did you find it???? I must acquire.-- Call me if you have time for craftin!!!!!

Posted by: amy_in_az at January 22, 2006 09:59 AM

I would have done the same thing. That is a serious bargain, and it's PINK!

Posted by: Courtney at January 22, 2006 10:15 AM

How could you resist?
Yarn called *Touch me* AND pink? You were doomed :D

Posted by: Sheryl at January 22, 2006 11:01 AM

Stacey, Stacey, Stacey(as I'm shaking my head)Question? Are you knitting it up to give away for some charitable organization or is it for you? Because if it's for you then it is in fact stash enhancement(very, very nice stash enhancement, but stash enhancement non the less)--I do appreciate your honesty though. Let me know :)

Posted by: Kim at January 22, 2006 11:03 AM

Oh Stacey,

If it is to give away, I know the perfect person to give it too! See the name directly under this post. :) Just kidding. Do you have any yarn in your stash that you could give away/sell to cancel out this bad thing you did? Yeah, I know, it would be like giving away a child. Hmmm...You know, I think you are just going to have to suffer. Think of how bad you have been while you knit with the pink Touch Me yarn. And don't enjoy how it feels while you knit. There, punishment has been delt with! Have fun!

Posted by: Becky at January 22, 2006 11:43 AM

Where did you find it? While you were in AZ? I'd love to gt a kit for myself. Thanks!

Posted by: Kate Lathrop at January 22, 2006 02:53 PM

ooh, what a great shade!!

can i ask the shade # & where you got the kit? i'd *love* one for myself & knowing the proceeds were going somewhere good would totally justify this absolutely frivolous purchase ;-)

Posted by: maria at January 22, 2006 05:36 PM

sometimes the punishment is worth the crime...

Posted by: kathy b at January 22, 2006 07:04 PM

Well, as you know, I fell prey to the siren song of Touch Me as well, so I totally understand! Whatcha gonna do with it?

Posted by: Jenifer at January 22, 2006 11:19 PM

Don't feel too bad, think of it as giving to charity;)

Posted by: Kylie at January 23, 2006 01:19 AM

WOW I have that kit too. Are you going to make the hat that comes with the yarn or something else? I love the knit for her cure stuff they mean so much to me! Just love it when someone buys there stuff!

You are a Bad Girl! You did another bad, bad thing -- you posted That Picture of That Bag and now - I gotta have one! You are definetly a bad influence! And to top it off - you get rewarded by winning the mittens. You must be doing something right. I haven't seen/felt the Touch Me yet. But now, I'm keeping an eye out for it. I enjoy reading your blog, so send me your address and I'll love to be a part of your afghan.

Off topic, I know, but...

I just wanted to congratulate you on winning the mittens from the Yarn Harlot... how fun!

Posted by: Leisel at January 23, 2006 03:51 PM

Hey Stacey - congratulations (she says with a smile while wiping one small tear away). The mittens are lovely, and I'm sure you will cherish them always!

Posted by: tree at January 23, 2006 04:54 PM

Okay you must have gotten that up at Jessica Knits. I was there drooling and breaking my resolution not to buy yarn and saw some on Saturday. That place is BY FAR the most wonderful knitting store I have been to in the valley!

Posted by: Amanda at January 23, 2006 05:07 PM

I think that is worth breaking the rules for! I have ovarian cancer so anything that can help find a cure is worth it! The yarn is a great color! Congrats on winning the Harlot's mittens!!
