So long stashalong!

I'm free, I'm frrrrreeeee!!!! I have been officially kicked off the stashalong...but there are no hard feelings, so don't cry for me. I have pink "Touch Me" yarn to keep me comfort, remember? Now I can visit my local yarn shops and hold my head up high, I don't have to duck in and duck out. I can stay for a nice long chat...and maybe even buy something! I made it month wihtout buying any yarn and for me, that's good enough! I will still try to encourage those people that are still participating in the stashalong, especially those that I knit with on a regular basis. I promise I won't wave my new yarn in your faces, or laugh when I see you put that skein back on the shelf. Well...maybe I'll laugh a little, but in a nice way! Here's a couple of skeins of the new Silk Garden Lite that I picked up at String on Friday. Mmmm, isn't it loverly?! It's my favorite colors right now...brown-and pink!!

It's color number 2013-lot A. Mmmm, I have no plans for this yarn yet...but something will come to me. The cup I picked up on Sunday when I went for Dim Sum and then the Asian grocery store with Cynthia and Whitney, Drew, and Alice. I have been spending a lot of time with my 2 favorite girls lately...so here's a cute picture I took of them!

Awww! Aren't they cute in their matching sweatsuits! Plus, some exciting news! I'm going to be an aunt again! My sister is due at the end of June!! We get to find out if it's a boy or a girl in another week or so! Yeah!

I'm knitting away on my ISE scarf. It HAS to be done this week...because the Olympics start on Friday baby!! Whoo hoo!! I'm ready to cast on for my cabled shrug! Thanks for all the compliments on the swatch and colors that I chose. I think that because I love that colorway so much, it's really going to motivate me to knit it up!!! For those of you who haven't checked out what Team Colorado has been up to...get to it! It's not too late to join!

Congrats to Whitney! That is a cute pic of her and Alice together in their matching suits! I saw the new Silk Garden Lite and fondled that for awhile before putting it back. It is pretty!

Those are truely lovely colors on the silk garden lite. I bet they'd make a nice multi-directional scarf.

This made me giggle. I could never do a stash-along. I love yarn waaaaaay too much!

I love that yarn! I was trying so hard not to buy any more yarn, but I might have to have some of that. I too love pinks and browns and purple is my favorite color. Congrats on being an auntie again!

Goodbye, Stacey! (from a Stashalong perspective) Ah well, now there's another person whose yarn purchases I can live vicariously through. Mmmm - that Silk Garden Lite looks fun.

I love the colors of the Silk Garden. Very cool!

You're too funny. Ya know, when I was "at risk" of being disqualified, I figured I'd win either way. I'd say your brown-and-pink is absolutely worth it! I'm feeling tragically weighed-down by my stash right now, so it makes me less tempted (yes, really!) to buy more. So that's good, I guess. Enjoy your new freedom!

i guess it means you'll have no conflicts of interest while in boston! you can buy many loverly yarn souvenirs of teh city.
Congrats to Whitney and Drew! I can't wait to hear what they're having...

Stacey,

Congrats! Both for the future new Niece/Nephew and for being able to buy yarn again. I would never join a stash a long. My stash is so pitiful I need to buy all that I can. I do like that Brown and pink yarn. I have trouble picking yarns that are combined, never sure how they will look knit up. By the way, just in case you or anyone who reads you blog loves Suri Merino yarn as I do, it is being discontinued. I was heart broken. Stock up while you can!!

I heard that a picture of my shrug was floating around the internet. Glad you like it, no one would have ever known it was that cute by looking at the pattern book. It's going with me to Seattle tomorrow for the Madrona Fiber Arts Festival. Have fun knitting it.

I'm just a little jealous, no more Stashalong.

Some constraints are just too much for a person to bear!

Congratulations! It sounds that it's really great to be "free" ;-))
To be honest: I was sure that you won't make it ...

Hey everyone, thanks for the congrats on the baby. Stacey, I'm so proud that you made it a month. I love the Noro, if its a girl you could totally make something for the baby out of it. What a pretty color! (hint, hint)

Posted by: Whitney at February 7, 2006 02:38 PM

LOL, Stacey, Your sister is so cute! You two must be so much fun together. Whitney, even if it is a boy she could make something for Alice with the Noro, you could get it either way! Good luck and congrats to you.

Good for you SB! I wanted to be supportive of your stash-busting efforts...but secretly i was thinking that you were absolutely NUTS for passing up opportunity after opportunity to BUY YARN!!!
