Day 5...11 days to go!

NoroShrug_Day5.jpg

Last night was just the way that I planned. Low key, yummy dessert, and my friend Genia came over to knit with me while I watched T.V. (and to stop me from eating the entire dessert all by myself!!). I got many rows on my shrug done, but I need to sit down and figure out how much I need to accomplish each day to finish on time. Much like these two crazy knitters have! Seriously, they have figured out how many stitches are in their project total, and then they break it down by day! I'm not sure if this would hinder me, or help me? I definitely have the pattern memorized, it's super easy, and I'm getting into the rythmn with my cables. I've had difficulty with cables in the past, but I'm liking the way these are turning out. That's a good thing.

I'm finding myself thinking about knitting on this project while I'm at work, I mean that's hours and hours of conscience awake time that I could be knitting! Most of the people in my office have heard about what I'm doing, but I still don't think they'd appreciate me knitting all day instead of working. Phooey! I'm living for my lunch breaks these days.

I haven't posted a picture of my niece in a while, so I leave you with this. It's a picture of her in my favorite shirt that she got for Christmas from Grandma. We (read my mom and I) were dragging her around with us shopping while her mom was in meetings. We took this one at Jessica Knits where she even took a little catnap! The shirt reads, "Would someone please teach me to knit?", and it was purchased through Knitty. See the pink knitting needles she's clutching in her hands? Aww yeah! I didn't even pick them out for her...she grabbed them all by herself! That's my kind of girl!

I love how the shrug is looking, how can you not want to knit on that day and night to get it done!!! I just got my yarn for the shrug this week.

Looking great! Can't wait to see it in person. I love that colorway. I really want to make one now that I saw the finished one at String too.

Your niece is so adorable! And the Noro looks great, too. Keep up the good work.

Stacey,
Too Cute!! Alice is just adorable. I am sure between Grandma and Aunt Stacey, she will be knitting in no time. Love how the shrug is looking. I may have to work up the courage (and the skill) to make one too! I knit during my lunch break too! Everyone stares, and a couple of the nurses call me Grandma. I don't care, I love what I am doing. Keep up the great work!!

Your project does not lend itself to figuring out how many stitches there are very easily. And i'm falling WAY behind. WAY WAY. I'll have to knit night and day when i get back!

Cute t-shirt--my Little Diva has a "future knitter" t-shirt from Knitty :) Your project is looking great!

Beautiful shrug arm. I love the colors and pattern!

And the t-shirt? Adorable!

Awww... Alice is so cute, and so is the t-shirt. If you look at the picture on my blog where we were evacuated by the fire department, you can see your shrug on Kathy, sitting on the curb! See you tomorrow night.

Ooh - I love the colors in your shrug. I adore that cute t-shirt. Go for the Gold!

I love the Noro Shrug thingy you are making so much I had to get the pattern book! Well when I got the pattern book, there is a picture of the shrug in the book and it says: No instruction. But then I look in the instruction book and I see something called Y743 Noro Kureyon Shrug. Is this the same one? I really want to make it but I am not sure. HELP!!

Cute niece too!

Beth...that's the one!! I'm not sure why they wrote "no instruction" because the instructions are right there on Page 10 of the instruction booklet! Weird, huh?!

Your shrug is looking great. Great progress. You know I just love those colors and Alice is as cute as a button.

I have to say, that picture of Alice is so cute, she has the sweet sleepy look on her face like, "I should go back to sleep, but I'm too interested in what's going on to do it." Also, I'm so excited to see the shrug completed, it is shaping up and looking beautiful.
