I'm getting a little nervous over here!

Ahhh...my little count down timer is changing colors! That means that we're almost to the end!! Yikes!

I made some progress over the weekend, but I now know why I have so many works in progress going on at one time! Because I am easily bored with a project. Knitting on just one thing for so long is killing me! Apparently I work better when I can concentrate on one thing for a few days and then switch to another. I have no update pictures today, it's too depressing...especially when I heard that Cynthia is almost at the same point that I am...and she started on Friday. Crappity, crap, crappers. I have a feeling that I'm not going to finish on time. I'm going to keep going...and maybe I'll try to stay up late and knit. Does anyone have any suggestions?

**I interrupt this Olympic knitting blog to show off a little fibery goodness that my friend Joanne brought back for me from Medrona at special request. Umm, yeah...it's Socks That Rock!! Alas, it wasn't all for me...but isn't it all just gorgeous? (some is going to live at my mom's house and some at my sister's) The colors are (from L to R) Jewel of the Nile, Blarney Stone, Prove It All Night, Lovers Leap, and Fire On the Mountain. I'm taking a class in April to learn how to knit socks from the toe up and using the Magic loop method, and this is going to be the yarn that I use. I can't wait!!**

Back to Olympic knitting...and the Woman's short program tonight!

I believe in the dream, Stacey! You can do it! As for late-night knitting ... Leno and Letterman are my aides of choice ... that, and drinking too much coffee during the day, I guess. :) Loove the STR yarn ... I really need to buy some. Thanks for sharing!

i agree, you can do it stacey! if you have the willpower to resist knitting up that str yarn right this minute, you have the willpower to finish the olympics project (which i can't wait to see! hurry stacey!) ok, no pressure or anything :) good luck!

p.s. what do you think about the patagonia yarn you sent me as the small counterpane bag from handknit holidays?

Oh... look at that beautiful STR. Thanks for sharing the loveliness!

Keep knitting! Keep knitting!!

You can do it Stacey!!!!! Your colors are so beautiful, how can you not want to keep knitting. I guess I don't bore as easily I am more excited to complete something than think about getting bored. Right now I am worried about needing more yarn when I run out.

Hey do you happen to know if there is any room in that class for the socks?

Posted by: Jeni at February 21, 2006 05:44 PM

Let me guess which color you are keeping :) I really like Fire on the Mountain--lots of colors.

You can do it Stacey! Keep going. There is always hope!!! Don't stop knitting, focus on the goal. We are all rooting for you!! GO STACEY!! Team Colorado!!!!

C'mon Stacey, you can't do it! I know you can.
*Swooning over the STR* So beautiful!

If you find the secret to finishing on time, let me know. No one will be more surprised that me if I finish in time ... an impossible mountain to climb now, I'm afraid. But you... you can do it!!

Posted by: Joanne at February 21, 2006 09:18 PM

Reward yourself. Figure out how much you need to do a day to finish, and promise yourself that if you make it that far, then you can work on something else... whatever you most want to.

Don't forget to factor in time for weaving in ends, seaming, and washing and blocking.

You can do it Stacey! I Think I Can, I Think I Can:) Love the Lovers Leap, just lovely.

Ooooooohhh.....Socks That Rock--they are the whole reason I am going to MDS&W this year, to load up on their fabby yarn. AND I just finished my Jaywalkers in STR (Hard Rock colorway) last night during the figure skating--pics to come.

Sad about the Olympic knitting, but hey, I'd take STR as a consolation prize ANYTIME!!!!!

That is some positively scrumptious yarn. Lemme guess... the Lovers Leap is for you? It's a very Stacey color!

Yeah, the color changing on my Knitting Olympics countdown timer is kind of wigging me out too. I didn't get any knitting done last night while watching the Women's shorts - just too captivating. And OMG - did Sasha Cohen not skate the best short?!?! She was phenomenal!!!

That's lovely sock yarn.........Nothing better than STR, in my humble opinion!

Just keep plugging along. Know that we are all in the stands, with our faces painted in red, white and blue, chanting, "Stacey! Stacey!" It's the flying knitter!

Just keep trying your best. I know I work best under pressure.

I bet you're keeping Lover's Leap for yourself. I know I would :)

I have faith in you!! Besides, you entered and that makes you a WINNER!
PS Is it too late to send you yarn?

Oh, look at that incredible yarn! STR is to die for.

Stacey,

Have you heard about the Rockin' Sock Club yet? http://www.bluemoonfiberarts.com/sockclub.html

Each sock kit will include a skein of Socks that Rock in a new color not yet available to the public.

I haven't knitted my first pair of socks yet, but I am tempted to join.
