Project Spectrum

project_spectrum.jpg

Yesterday was the start of Project Spectrum, a little idea that Lolly cooked up, and boy is it a good one!! Each month you are supposed to focus on creating (this means not just knitting! It could be painting or beading or sewing, etc.) something that is in that month's color. So...in March we are focusing on red and pink. What I have decided to do on the knitting front is work on a few things that I already have on the needles. Namely finishing up my Charlotte and working on my Touch Me gloves! Granted, if I get any wild ideas this month...I think that I just might have an abundance of pink and red yarn!? You think?

I'm itching to cast on some socks with this beauty that I picked up at Colorful Yarns a few days ago! There are so many shades of pink and orange in this one...I love it! If you're interested...it's Cherry Tree Hill supersock yarn and I know that they had one more skein of it a few days ago:) It's going to be fun to see what everyone is going to create this month in red/pink...there are around 400 people participating so far.

Thanks for all your "get well soon" messages. I really appreciate it. I'm not feeling that much better but I'm taking medicine...so hopefully I'll get over this soon! I came back from lunch yesterday and walked in the door and my boss (also goes by the name Dad:) told me to go home and rest. So I did. I took a much needed nap and worked a little bit on my "secret" project. (click to see a picture of the back...no peeking Genia!) I'm back at work today, and the plan is to stay here all day and work...we'll see if I make it. I hate being sick. Enough complaining Stacey! I've got to get back to work:)

Stacey,
Glad you are feeling a little better. Aren't Dads (I mean bosses) great? I just love that yarn. I will have to have a look at it. Maybe buy a little. Always that possiblity. Keep getting better and keep knitting. I love to see what you post, it keeps me encouraged!

I'm glad you're back at work today too. Its no fun without you here. What a fun idea to create with stuff you already have. I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out.

Project Spectrum is really a great idea too. I didn't know you were going to make gloves out of the Touch Me, how cool. I hope that you feel better soon!

i hope you're feeling better today, b/c tomorrow is the knit night! (not that *I* get to go). Regardless, the yarn is very pretty... it screams "Stacey!"

First time posting here. Hey everyone, I've been reading for about a month now, and have so enjoyed the bantering and inspiration. I have just the yarn to participate in the Project Spectrum this month. I have about 7 skeins of a Valentino i Filati yarn that is an alpaca and wool mix. It is varigated in dark and light pinks, so should fit the color bill for the month. I'll have to pour over some pattern books tonight and see what I can come up with in a pattern. I am on a personal fast for the next 38 days not to purchase any more yarns. Easier said then done as I'm sure you all know. So, this will be a good distraction for me over the course of March. Thanks for such a fun place to share. Hope you are feeling better Stacey.. Double bags of green tea in half a cup of hot tea water is an awesome ammune booster... 1000mg of vitamin C twice a day helps too... no toxic build up in Vit C... Take Care, Denice

Project Spectrum sounds great. Wish i could join, too busy right now. Could I join later?
Anyway, I hope you're feeling better. I meant to ask you a while ago, is your Charlotte the Noro Shrug? and if so, is that the "official" name or did you come up with that? I like it!

Hi Stacey,

The colors on this yarn are lovely. Can't wait to see you whip up some socks with it. Sorry to hear you are under the weather. I hope you feel better soon. Get lots of rest and don't forget to stay hidrated. A nice cup of hot tea and lemon is usually comforting.
