What's this? You've claimed Thursday for your own project? Yes, indeed I have! Last night I finally organized all of the yarn that I've received from all of you and cast on! A huge thank you goes out to Genia, for helping me decide what yarn to start with and which ones to use after that...we wrote it all down on a big chart that's included in the pattern. I sure love that I have friends who like to help me organize!! This is going to be such a fun project!! I'm going to have updates every Thursday about the squares that I've finished and who sent the yarn and a little bit about my relationship with the sender. I'm really excited to get going on this, and I can tell that it's going to be highly addictive!

I'll leave you with this teaser of the ball of red and pink Manos in honor of Project Spectrum. I'll have better pictures of a completed square (or two, or five!!) next week. If you still want to participate in my blogging afghan project, email me, I still have about 20 squares that need to be filled!! (it can be any type of yarn...leftover or new, whatever you have and love to knit with!!) Here's a peek at the box I'm storing all my afghan yarn in!! Fun, fun!!
FUN! I love seeing how you planned it all. The box of gear, the squares all mapped out. It will be great fun reading this one--
AND like everyone else I'll be watching to see where my yarn square will appear....
Posted by: suzanne at March 30, 2006 12:35 PMOoohhh! I can't believe I get to be the first square. I can't imagine how you were able to plan it all out. I'm no good at "seeing" how to put the right combo of colors and textures together. This will be a fun project to watch as it grows.
Posted by: jae at March 30, 2006 01:59 PMI love that you're so organized about it all!
Posted by: Wanda at March 30, 2006 02:14 PMWhat a great concept, good luck with it!!
Posted by: belinda at March 30, 2006 02:45 PMI'm glad that Genia could help you do this last night. She is such a good friend. I'm excited to see it all come together.
Posted by: Whit at March 30, 2006 04:18 PMHi!
So, I'm coming out of lurkdom to offer you some yarn for your afghan. It sounds like a great project. If you email me your address, I'll be happy to mail you a package of secret yarny goodness. While you're at it, check out my podcast for some fun music to knit along to.
Cheers!
Maura
Wow! Whole lotta yarn. That lovely Manos will get you started off right. :)
Posted by: Chris at March 30, 2006 06:03 PMGrrr, does that mean my laziness kicked me out of the afghan? If so I understand. My laziness has done me in on numerous occasions. Anyway! LOVE LOVE LOVE the color. And the super organized chart :)
Posted by: Vicki at March 30, 2006 06:21 PMwhew! i was worried that i was gonna be left out since I haven't quite decided what to give you yet. Maybe I'll find something this weekend!
Posted by: cyn at March 30, 2006 08:07 PMHiya...
I don't remember if I did or did not include a skein for your afghan with your scarf... Can you tell me? If I didn't then I'll send you some right away :)

It is going to be fun watching this come together.
Posted by: Ruth at March 31, 2006 06:30 AMWhat a great project! I'm glad you got so many people to participate. That pink manos is making me drool. Mmm... manos....
Posted by: Kelli at March 31, 2006 10:12 AMWow this is great progress. Of and of course I was happy to see my little flowered box peeking through the yarn stash for your afghan.
I have some rainbow lornas laces left over in shepherd worsted if you would like it. Also, I have some leftover Malabrigo--my very latest discovery in worsted weight yarn--it is the most gorgeously soft yarn from Uruguay. Let me know if you want me to send it your way for some of the smaller squares.
Posted by: Marisol at March 31, 2006 12:34 PMSince you still need something, I'd love to contribute! Let me know what you think is missing from the "inventory" and I'll dig something out of the stash!
Posted by: Renee at April 2, 2006 04:33 PMHow exciting, I've been looking forward to seeing the start of this afghan! I love the little chart!
Posted by: Cheryl at April 3, 2006 10:40 AMBahhh! I haven't forgotten, I swear! I can't decide what to send yet! But I think I might've come to a decision. I have your addy, and promise to send it out soon!
