It's so easy to be GREEN!

All Green.jpg

As I was knitting yesterday, I realized how much green I've been knitting with...and then it struck me! Hello Stacey! Green is this month's Project Spectrum color! I have my Mary Jane in chartruese green (finished but still not felted), my Koigu clapotis in various shades of green and other bright colors, and then a new project that I just couldn't resist after seeing Jessica knitting one at the shop. It's the stripey tote from One Skein using all that lovely Malabrgio yarn that I bought the other day. The whole base is knit with the darker green color. You guys...I can't stop knitting it. I only had Jessica wind one skein so that I wouldn't get too distracted by this project. But malabrigo is like knitting with butter (laced with crack). I think it's the softest yarn that I've ever knit with. I may never want to knit with anything else. Seriously. Koigu, who needs it if they can knit with Malabrigo? I think I may be addicted. I'm tempted to go get more as soon as they open on Wednesday. I may need an intervention.

You sound just like me. I've just decided to start an afghan/blanket in Malabrigo to give me an excuse to buy more in the future. It's so sinfully soft, and wonderful to knit with. On top of that, the stitches look great with it!

"Butter laced with crack" -- I like that! Love all the greens....

Just what I need, another yarn addiction. :-)

Isn't Malabrigo the best!!!! I cannot say enough about this yarn. I discovered it after I sent you 2 balls of yarn for your afghan. I did mention that I have a bunch of little remnants left over from hats that I have knit up in case you want them for your afghan.

Glad you discovered it--I am addicted two.

Yes, Malabrigo is amazing. I have two skeins of it and haven't found what they want to be yet, except a tiny wee scarf for a Bubby bear. That didn't take much, and so far it has withstood lots of hugging and squeezing by my son, so I guess it wears well. But I want to do something more than just a scarf with the rest of it.

Mmmm butter laced with crack... Your projects look so beautiful in that picture! Before I read the text, I was about to ask "is that top one made of Manos?" Duh... I was there when you bought the Malabrigo :) My boyfriend has the car all day today, but I'll give you a call if there's a way for me to come up there. Have fun!

Stacey, I'm jealous of the time you've been having to knit and play. Alice and I planted some flowers this morning and we thought of you. Can't wait to see you soon! Love, Whit

PS - on a non-knitting or blogging related note, I can't freakin' believe Grey's Anatomy last night!

So, if Malabrigo makes you feel like you don't need your koigu --- I'd like to entertain some of your koigu at my house in rural PA where I have to get koigu from far, far away...

I'm green with envy. I'm going to have give the Malabrigo a try - like I need more yarn!!

Apt description of Malabrigo!! Gorgeous photo...

dude. you're overthrowing your Koigu? so, if i steal all your koigu, you won't be upset? let's be real here. You're in the honeymoon phase with the malabrigo. soon, you'll notice that you're in a co-dependent relationship, and you'll set some boundaries. Hopefully.

Both yarns have their place, but OH Malabrigo is so so soft and the colors are just gorgeous. I'm just not sure how well it would work for shawls and socks. :)
