I love a candy truck!

Candy Truck.jpg

Every other Tuesday, the Mountain Man comes to visit our office . I love those days. It's a nice break to be able to go down to the parking lot and be greeted by a truck filled with candy! I mean, come on, it's the coolest car ever! One side of the truck has salty snacks (nuts, crackers, trail mix) and the other side has all the gummies, chewy candy, hard candy, you name it! They even have some chocolate, although there's not as much in the summer for obvious reasons. The woman who comes to our office is the sweetest...she'll special order stuff if she doesn't have it, she's even made special trips to bring stuff back that I've wanted! Talk about great customer service! Yesterday I bought some gummy clown fish...mmm, mmm, good! What do gummy clown fish look like? (click to see for yourself!)

What's going on with me knitting-wise? Well, I'm almost done with the Liam squares and I'm dreaming of casting on for a fun summer top. Last night I was hanging with some of my knitting friends, and Jeni has almost completed her Green Gables sweater out of Rowan All-Seasons cotton! It's gorgeous...and I even got to try it on! Thanks Jeni! It fit me perfectly.(which of course made me not want to give it back to her!!) It has now become my sweater that I'm obsessing over making! Do you ever do that? Get something stuck in your head that you want to knit...and it just won't go away! I'm planning on knitting it with some of my CottonEase stash...now I just need to decide what color to use! I have tons of mint, hot pink, and orange. My mom has a few colors that I may be able to talk her out of:) So, the moral of the story is...hurry and get done with all projects that have looming deadlines, and then knit summer tops for yourself!! I'm off to peruse the archives of the Green Gables Knitalong to check out color options! (Thanks for that suggestion Wanda! Great idea!)

Hi Stacey,
I LOVE reading your blog! Well...I am with you on the Green Gable summer project. I ordered my pattern last night and am trying to decide which color to make. I, too, love the bright cheery colors so it may be lime green or it may be a pretty pink. I am a little bit nervous about the pattern as I have heard it has been tricky.
Good luck!
Meg

YUM! I am a huge gummy fan! I'd probably be buying way too much from that truck every week! I've never seen gummi clown fish, but they look great!

Have you ever tried Swedish Fish? They are gummy fish but are thicker (harder?) than regular gummy candies. They are so so so good.

I've been hearing that the Green Gables pattern is error ridden - but maybe the knitalong has some tips. Thanks for the link!

Oh, how I wish we had a candy truck around here! I'm so envious.

Kind of funny: I am right now finishing the last square of a blanket and looking ahead to making Green Gables in LB Cotton Ease (I think... there's one other contender). I can't wait to see your progress!

At a glance the first picture looked like a truck with yarn bins! Now that would be cool!!

I'm glad you liked the suggestion! Good luck with GG. It is a fun project and totally addictive knitting.

Darn I was even going to post about it today, but I didn't have time, and now I must go home and finish it. I have a hard time posting in sync with my progress photos. I vote hot pink or mint.

Well, shoot! I want a candy truck.

Mmmmm-a candy truck; what a fabulous pms idea :)

I get obsessed with knitting or stitching something all the time and I cannot rest until I have done something about it.

I'm trying to finish a summer top right now--hopefully I'll have it done by the end of the month(I am obsessing over making a tank top right now--it's been crazy hot, hasn't it?).

Thanks for popping by my blog today and for your kind words :) See you soon!

WoW! That candy truck is the height of cool. I am so with you on knitting summer tops for oneself. That settles it, I'm casting on one for me tonight.

Dude, I wish WE had a candy truck that came to where I work! Oh, wait . . . we do have a little store that sells all kinds of candy. But, a truck! That's way cooler.

Wow. That business would not survive in Arizona! Your supply would melt.

Candy car - where do I find one?

Although, wouldn't it be great to see it as a mobile yarn store or even a great way to travel with your yarn projects at hand. Oh my gosh, the possibilities....
