Busy, busy, busy...

Towering Mohair.jpg

Busy with what, you ask? Well...I'm planning class projects for the up coming months. There are going to be some fun ones!! I'll be talking about them more as they approach. Here's the yarn for the first one, it's a tower of mohair. I just happen to have the perfect bag to tote it around in too! Does that surprise you?! Plus, I'm knitting a few shop samples...and the yarn below is going to be an example of Log Cabin knitting! I can't wait to start this one!

Pink sweater 12 inches.jpg

I have made some progress on the massive back section of my Malabrigo sweater. I really can't express to you enough how wonderful this yarn is. Seriously. It's so freaking soft and buttery. I love it. That is the only reason that I'm not bored to tears knitting and purling back and forth and back and forth. I need to knit 2 more inches and I'll finally get to start doing something a little more exciting, like shape armholes! Yippee! I'm not complaining though because I do so enjoy knitting with this yarn! If you don't have some...go get some! If you live in Denver quickly drive to Colorful Yarns and buy some! I'm not joking...everyone needs to experience the wonder that is this yarn.

Mushroom Project bag.jpg

I have a long overdue thank you to say to Kelpkim! She sent me the cutest little project bag with mushrooms all over it and sock yarn inside! Thanks so much...it really made my day. I think that I've had various projects in itsincethe moment I pulled it out of the box! Plus...bonus that she's coming to Colorado next week and I get to show her around to all the shops!!

Thanks everyone for all the comments and birthday wishes for my niece Alice. We had her birthday party, a Nemo party, over the weekend. It was hilarious. She was overwhelmed and yet loved being the center of attention! Here's my favorite picture of the day right after she enjoyed her Nemo cupcake!

Gotta love the smurf-blue icing - needless to say, we tossed the leftover cupcakes, who wants that much blue in their diet? It was a fun day and thanks again for wishing my little smurf a happy birthday all you knit-bloggers!

Oops! I guess I should have said what the Log Cabin yarn was. It's one of my favorites to work with and it's really affordable...it's Tahki Cotton Classic!

Holy moly! Your niece looks almost exactly like my nephew! (except, you know, the gender difference) He also just turned 2! Happy birthday to your niece! That icing is a wonderful color.

That sweater is such a lucious pink! It looks great. Those other yarns look neat too.

Hi there! thanks so much for all your advice on what stores to go to and they were all great! except for the lamb shoppe. way too fufu for me. and i have to say i liked all of the stores you recommended, and love the selection of yarns at your store--colorful yarns! and i am in love with your sweater! what colorway is it? i'm so glad that you guys have that over there--none of the other stores carried it and it's all the rage over here in SF, CA! i hope you got my note at the store and i'm sorry for not calling--the trip was such a whirlwind and there wasn't a chance to call or email--the bf's family has no internet access!
thanks again and i'm so glad you are enjoying the project bag and sock yarn! knit on!
