Jesse and a Noni bag

Jesse Noni Bag.jpg

Wanda recently finished knitting a Noni felted bag. (I think it was the "Rather-Huge Carpet Bag") Anyway, she was not happy with the way that it turned out...so she gave it to me. I think the main reason she did that was so that she didn't have to look at it anymore.

Do you ever have projects like that? After you're done knitting them, you can no longer stand the sight of them?! I'm debating if I want to try and salvage it and try to "make it work" (that sounds so very Tim Gunn of me!) or if I should just let Jesse have it since it has already been claimed by him anyway. Any thoughts? The bag is what it is...rather huge, so I'm not sure if I'd want such a big felted bag?! Who am I kidding? I love a big bag, but this thing is massive! I couldn't resist taking a picture of him all curled up in his own little, I mean big, Noni bag. This bag makes him look tiny and you all know that he is not a small cat!

Have a good long weekend everyone! I hope you all take the extra time to get some long neglected projects worked on...I know I'm going to!

Cut it up and make pillows for your craft room or cat(s), or something for Alice like a purse, or a bulletin board wall hanging like Alterknits has in it. You do seem to like pink so I bet you'll use if for something.

I wanted to say give it to Jesse, but Amy's idea's great too... you could make a kitty pillow out of it and some things for yourself. But then again, Jesse would have so much fun hiding and sleeping in that bag...

Cheers Eva (PS: I'll mail that yarn from the US... I'll be there after Sept 17th)

I didn't care what happened to it. I saw a tutorial on Mimknits of something she did to a felted bag that wouldn't felt down and it was too big. But it came after I gave away the bag. And honestly I wasn't too thrilled with it when I finished. I'm good with knitting it and I really didn't want to do all that work of lining it and so on, so whatever! It could make a nice kitty bed for Jesse.

Jesse & Puff, long lost brothers! I finally had to make my kitties thier own beds just to keep them out of my own felted things; cats just seem to love felted items.

It looks like there is enough for two Jesse's in there. Maybe cut it up for 2 kitty beds, one for Jesse, one to give or donate?

It is huge, isn't it? LOL But it's wonderful! Line it, put some handles on it, and use it to keep all the yarn for large project in it (I could have used it when I knit my Kaffe Fassett sweater). Or... I'd love to have a bag like that. Woohoo! You scored.

i say let the kitty have it :) although, you could also make flower pins out of it. i recently took a felted bag that didn't turn out and cut flower shapes out of it and made funky pins. just a thought.

So many good ideas, thanks everyone!! Now I just have to make a decision! The most difficult part for me:)

I love the fact that Tim Gunn has a Wikipedia entry- why he wouldn't, I don't know, but somehow it just tells me how much one of my favorite TV people is recognized!

You could finish the bag, and use it as your cat carrier. At least you know he'd like it! I agree with the people who suggest pillows, but what could also be very cool is cutting it up for accents. If you made a bag in all gray, and then used the already felted bag to make flowers from, cutting at an angle so the stripes are surprising.

Unfortunately (or not), I usually get that feeling well before I'm finished and the WIP ends up in the forgotten pile. I also have a problem with fickleness, which is the primary reason I do not have a tattoo.

Perfect for Jesse! I made one that I didn't like and it is now something for my dogs to lay on when I am not around! You are queen of Big Fun Bags, so I am sure you will find a way to use it!
