It's Wednesday, right?

Floss_verticle.jpg

I had such grand plans...unrealistic, sure...but such good intentions. My plan was to sleep in on Monday, get up and start knitting and not stop until I had all the projects that are on deadlines finished. Who am I kidding? There was no possible way that I could finish everything, but I made some good progress! I also now have a very clean garage thanks to my mom coming over and motivating me to clean it out before trash day on Tuesday...I guess thanks are in order, so thanks mom!

Shawlette_light.jpg

Here is the evidence that I do indeed knit and that I have made some progress on a few projects! First we have the "La la" shawlette from Greetings from Knit Cafe. I am binding off and it is one of those bind off's that seem like it will never end. It has a loopy ruffled picot edging, can you say tedious? Especially since it is knit out of mohair. This is one of the few projects that I have knit where I regret a color choice. I really wish that I had chosen a hot pink instead of the pale pink that I used. Oh well. I'm not ripping back 300 some stitches in mohair. No way. I thought about taking a hot pink sharpie to the yarn and just "coloring" it in. Not really...but it was a fleeting thought! The lighting is crappy in this picture too...which doesn't help my feelings about this project. This is what happens when you take pictures in the morning at my house. The green is a real acidy chartreuse and the orange is a really deep bright orange. Those two I'm happy with...the pink, not so much.

Next is the little felted tote from One Skein. It's for my One Skein pal...and it has been mailed off to her already. This tiny bag knit up while I was catching up on the last 2 episodes of Prison Break on Saturday. (have I mentioned how much I love that show...especially Wentworth Miller. He is a cutie!) I took a picture with the buttons for scale, and one with a closeup of the buttons. I just love how the brown and blue buttons turned out.

Log Cabin Begins.jpg

Here is the start to my Log Cabin sample for the shop. I can't wait to start on one for myself! I haven't quite decided what colors to make mine...I know it's going to have pink in it.

Seraphim_2.jpg

Last, but not least, I told myself that I wouldn't start anything new...but then Wanda wore here Seraphim Shawl again on Friday when we hung out, and the rest is history! I only let myself knit a little bit on it. It hasn't grown any since this picture was taken, and it's just been laying in the bottom of my knitting bag taunting me. The yarn that I'm using is "Plain and Fancy Sheep and Wool" in the colorway, Magenta that I picked up at Estes this year. They are one of those small Texas yarn companies that only sell their stuff at festivals. If I could get my hands on more of this stuff, I would. (I'm pretty sure that they are going to be at the Taos wool festival) I just love the way that the colors are knitting up. I'm pretty sure that there won't be much pooling because the colors change so rapidly. I think that the most I've knit with one color is like 3 stitches. It's so pretty...I don't think it's going to spend long languishing in my bag. I can't stand it!

Alright...gotta get to work...more on what I'm making with the DMC floss at the top of this entry later.

I think you're right about the hot pink. I think the hot pink would show up more with the red and chartreuse green. You decided to go with all blue buttons, eh? Oh well. Sucker, you started on the Seraphim! Hehe! You and Margene. I love mine, even though I ran out of yarn. Maybe if you go up a size, it'll be a little looser? I dunno. I think you will love it.
I had the same unrealistic goals of knitting on Monday, heck, the whole weekend and while I did make some progress, by Monday evening, I was tired of knitting and the only thing that got finished was one side of the red lacy top.

Yeah, the siren song of new projects can be awfully loud!

Hey, that pictures of your La La shawlette? It looks like a red, Valentine heart.... in the picture, anyway!

Are you stitching something?

Be careful with that floss. I was a cross-stitch fanatic back in the 90's. I even went to cross-stitch festivals......yes they have them too.

I like the light pink just fine. I do think that it would look better with a hotter pink, but the light pink is cute too.

Hey, the knitting all looks fabulous! Thanks for letting me force the garage project on you...satisfying my obsession to clean/straighten basements and garages!!

So much good stuff in that post! I LOVE the purple and green in your log cabin. Ditto the blue buttons with the brown bag. I'm with you on Wentworth Miller, too. He's dreamy!

As always, I love all of your projects and your color choices! I can't wait to see the Seraphim Shawl completed! I love the lay out of buttons on the one skein purse! The blue was a good choice!
