Have you seen it?

Noro Afghan.jpg

Oh my, look at the beauty that is this Noro afghan. Go ahead and click on the link and look at it. I need to make one. I have about 13 skeins of Noro in my stash that I have no specific plans for. I know that I have no good reason to cast on for anything new at the moment...but when do I listen to reason when it comes to knitting? I, for the most part, just do what feels right and makes me happy. So...I'm thinking that I'll be casting on for square one over lunch time, you know, just to see what the stitch pattern looks like. Then I'll put it down and work on the many pressing knits with deadlines. It's only one square. Those are famous last words, aren't they?!

YAY! Another Noro sucker! :) I started my fist square with #130...is see you have some smack dab in the middle there! Great minds and all!

Yes...famous last words. Now are you going to be working on Seraphim? We need to talk.

I know, I know...but I just can't help myself. It's the call of the Noro. There is something about that yarn!

I am being called by that Siren song as well. It was all I could do not to stay up another hour last night and cast on for one of those ingenious short row squares. I must be strong.

13 skeins of unaccounted for noro? seems like kismet, don't it? show pics please.

Well, there's the blanket in the new knitty. :)

I only have 5 colors at my fingertips right now, though... I'll *have to* go to the yarn store at lunch today so I can get enough colors for one strip at least! :)

Oh, I have a bunch of Kureyon stashed away and want to knit this too. I can't wait to see yours!

Oh I'm right there with ya! I knew all that Noro was sitting around in my stash for a reason - and that reason was revealed in the latest Knitty. Woohooo! Lizard Ridge!!! KAL anyone??

Oooh, it's beautiful. I can't wait to see how yours turns out!

That afghan is very you :) It looks like it would be good group knitting(with the squares and all)--I can't wait to see it knitted up!

A new knitting project? How many is that this week? I'm just joking, I know many of your projects are "work-related" for classes you're teaching. I know you'll enjoy knitting on personal fun stuff more, once the class projects are off the needles. Afghans are fun knitting for wintery nights and your noro is georgeous!

I sooo love this pattern too. I can't wait to see what your first, second and third ;) squares look like, then I'll see about maybe doing myself one :)

It is beautiful ... I am sorely tempted myself, but am forcing myself to look away. Must. Attend. To. Deadline. Knitting.

A word of warning (probably already too late) - knitting these squares is like eating potato chips... That's how Emma came to get her HS graduation present for her 15th birthday. (Thanks for the link, Caryn!)

Whoa. Way beyond my yarn budget! That is going to be gorgeous!

Posted by: Krista M at September 12, 2006 09:20 PM

but can you make just one? it'ssort of like eating just one potato chip.

just beautiful!

Oh I am not the only one I see who has fallen for this great knit. You are 1/2 way there at least with the yarn, I don't have any Noro yet!!

What a gorgeous afghan! Beautiful colors! :)

Holy crap. I can't wait to see how it turns out! Don't worry, cast on and away! You're right, it's just one square...or two...or seven.
