I finally have a picture of my nieces stripey top. She wore it yesterday for her preschool pictures! I narrowed the pictures that I would post down to 2...but believe me, there were many, many more. That's what happens when she's so darn cute and photogenic. You can see the plastic little broom set that her Great-Grandma Sue gave her in the picture above. She's obsessed with sweeping now! I guess that there are worse things that she could do, huh?!

Yarn: Lionbrand CottonEase
Pattern: Sugar 'n Spice (#193 QK) from Minnow Knits
Needles: Crap! I can't remember! I'll check my notes and update this later.
Knit: July 11th-Aug.7th This is when I had all the pieces knit up. The finishing is another story.
Modifications: The only thing that I changed was the hem. Instead of doing a hem facing, I added a ruffled edge just like the sleeves called for. Simple, and much cuter if I do say so myself!

As you know from yesterday's post, I have fallen in love with the Lizard Ridge pattern from the latest issue of Knitty. Well, Caryn and I have decided to host a knitalong together! I'll keep you posted on the details, we're going to be setting up the blog in the next few days. If you're interested in joining us, either leave me a comment or email me! This is going to be a fun one. If you're on the fence and not sure if you want to join...go take a peek at this sale they have going on at Webs! You may not be able to help yourself!!
Posted by Stacey at September 13, 2006 08:02 AMOh, she looks so cute in that stripey top! I know what you mean about narrowing down the pics, I always want to put up at least 10 of my little niece, but I realize that's a little impractical!
Posted by: Cheryl at September 13, 2006 12:14 PMPlease count me in on the Lizard Ridge KAL. I saw it this morning and it took my breath away. I've been thinking about it all day. Can't wait to get started.
Posted by: Lisa at September 13, 2006 12:38 PMSo cute Alice is! I love that top on her, it looks great! Yay for Aunt Stacey! Lizard Ridge is a such a unique idea, I love that afghan. I would be on the fence, but I really can't get into buying all that Kureyon right now. But it wuld be good as a go-along project. Very nice!
Posted by: Wanda at September 13, 2006 01:05 PMI love the Minnowknits top. have I mentioned since yesterday how absolutely evil you are? The only thing that kept me from casting on yesterday was the fact that my stash room (read the spare bed room so stacked with yarn and other disorganized junk you can barely walk across the floor) is not currently letting me find the Noro skiens that I have. I may have to pick up one or two tonight at my LYS. I so don't need another project right now you temptress.
Posted by: jasmine at September 13, 2006 01:19 PMThe top is so cute? did you do the clasp in the back? So the afgan is growing on me, maybe not enough to make it, but you never know.
Posted by: Jeni at September 13, 2006 01:21 PMThe minute I saw that blanket I knew I needed one. Yes, NEEDED!! Sign me up, please! :)

Posted by: Kathy at September 14, 2006 05:10 PMThat is a sweet top. It's just wonderful. Hey Stacey, isn't it a blast to knit for little people?
Posted by: Lynne at September 14, 2006 05:19 PMWhat a great job! I just love the ruffles... I love the colors, which have always been favorites, any shade of turquoise and orange work for me. The afghan will be wonderful. Sorry I can join, but I just got hung up on dragon scales and finally finding a use for my favorite kiogu yarn.
Posted by: terri lynn at September 14, 2006 07:40 PMHi! I came to your site from Freckles&Purls. I started a Lizard Ridge knitalong, too, whoops. I guess it's ok there's two? Mine will probably be a smaller group. Does this happen that there's two knitalongs? Anyway, this pattern is *so* awesomely beautiful, there's going to be a lot of nice afghans out there. Oh, my knitalong is at lizardridgeknitalong.blogspot.com
P.S. if you would like to co-host this space you're very welcome!
Posted by: Julia at September 14, 2006 11:02 PMThat striped top is too cute with the ruffled short sleeves! Alas, I am going to have to sit this Noro Fantasia Lizard Ridge Marathon Knitalong out =( But will watch it with great envy.
