My weekend flew by and was filled with lots of knitting related activity, but not much actual knitting. I hung out with some knitting buddies on Friday night. (and most people know that I hardly get any knitting done at these get-togethers because I like to socialize too much.) Then Saturday morning I worked at the shop and the next thing I knew it was Sunday afternoon and I was teaching a full class on Log Cabin knitting. It went really well and it was so fun to see what kind of yarn people chose and all the different colors. It was totally inspiring to me...but don't worry, I'm not going to start another afghan project. Two afghan projects at the same time is enough for me, thank you very much! I made up some worksheets so that everyone could play with the colored pencils and "plan" out their Log Cabin squares. It was such a fun class...I even had a couple visitors while I was there.

It was a fun but exhausting weekend. I hope to have at least a couple quiet nights at home this week. I've been knitting away on my Seraphim shawl...getting it all knit up before Rhinebeck! Hopefully I'll have progress pictures soon!
Posted by Stacey at September 25, 2006 04:43 PMHow fun! I bet the class was lots of fun. Looks like you had a good number of people for it. I'm sorry to have missed out on it all. Hope to see you this weekend!
Posted by: Wanda at September 25, 2006 05:45 PMMy log cabin has remained inactive for weeks now. I was intending for it to be a Christmas gift but it may be a Mother's Day gift at this rate.
Posted by: Monica at September 25, 2006 06:36 PMKnitting get-together looks like lots of fun! I would like so much to find a group in my area...
Posted by: Isabelle at September 26, 2006 07:23 AMDo you bind off all stitches on a row before picking up stitches in the previous log or do you keep the last stitch on the needle like the book shows? For some reason I have such a mental blockage when it comes to log-cabining.
Thanks! I adore your blog!
Posted by: Laura at September 26, 2006 08:31 AMI've been log cabin knitting from the Mason dixon book, but it's on hold right now because I've been doing some of the bibs from the book for my 1 year old. I bet that class was fun. I would love to get together and knit with people.
