Christmas time is here!

This past weekend went by way too fast. Between the decorating for Christmas, my new roommate moving in (she's not a knitter folks! How long do you think she'll hold out?!), and working/teaching at the shop, it just flew by! I did manage to work on a number of projects, but the photos are all kind of boring and look almost the same since the last time I took pictures. What do you get then? Pictures of Christmasy goodness, that's what!

First we have the mantel. I've gone with a more silvery theme this year and it has been so fun to play with. The "Let it Snow" sign is one of my favorite things. It's all glittery and happy.

The tree. Ahhh. What can I say? I love my all white Christmas tree. I went and bought a new tree this year (yes it's fake) just for fun, and I'm so glad that I did! The only colors on the tree are silver and green. It's really hard to take a good picture of a lit Christmas tree. Any suggestions from you photographer people? Most items pictured on the tree were purchased at Big Lots...my new favorite store. You can't beat 16 green ornaments for $1.50. The silver starbursts were only $1.00. It's so thrilling to me to decorate my whole tree for under $20.00!

I did make a few ornaments for the tree this year though. I used Trendsetter Aura in Lime (color 9329). All I did was make little tiny yarn balls, just like you would if you were going to wind a skein by hand.

Ok, more on the knitting/Christmas front later...gotta get to work.

Very cute little tree! I love Christmas and the real and true meaning of the season. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, LOTS to be thankful for, but Christmas comes in at a close second. Best to you and all your blog readers!

Very nice! I have another ornament idea that i came acrosso the other day. plain clear ornaments filled with leftover yarn like squiggle and glittery stuff. The gautier the better:)

I like the white tree/

I love that sign!! Wherever did you find it??
I also really like the silver and green theme. Those ornaments you made are adorable too. Nice job! I love decorating for the holidays, we just put our tree up this past weekend!

I love the Let It Snow sign. And I really like the idea of decorating with yarn. I may have to look at my big old jar full of yarn ends and get creative.

What a pretty tree! And a great use for novelty yarn - I never would have thought of that!

I tried to talk my boyfriend into a white tree this year, but he wasn't having it. I think they're fun!

I also LOVE the Prism bag, and just laid eyes on it today. I love the pink/brown pairing (I just bought some awesome sock yarn in pink & brown), and I think the shade of pink you've chosen is perfect for brown! (Though it would also look great with a dark charcoal gray, now that I think of it.)

I love your white Christmas tree! Someday I'm going to have a white one too. I actually saw one in a store that I LOVED earlier this season and I thought -- that's it -- I'm just going to buy it right now but it was just a display and not for sale...boo hoo The little yarn ball ornaments are cute too!!!

Love the tree! I went white this year, too, after realizing the Christmas balls I'd made from roving dyed in Kool-aid would really ZING on a white tree. You had a great idea for using odds and ends.
