Oh how I love a good project bag! My current obsession is with Vera Bradley "Ditty" bags. I can fit a whole sweater project in one of these little drawstring bags, it's wonderful. I have been on the hunt for one in the new Peacock colorway for a while now...I just love the combination of turquoise and chartreuse green.

What you see inside is a Mod on Mod square, and my Sheep Shop Jawbreaker. My friends all make fun of me for having my knitting in a project bag, and then whenever I go to a knit group I put that bag in my big bag. So, essentially, it's like having a bag within a bag. What can I say...some things I like to have organized!
**on the comment front...it's soooo close, so keep commenting! I'm almost to 5,000 comments!**
ETA: Yay! A girl runs to the doctor and to lunch and what happens?! I went over the 5000 mark! Congratulations to Kim U of the blog Crafty Kim...you are the winner! Posted by Stacey at March 22, 2007 07:30 AMOh, what a pretty project bag! I want one. That's pretty cool that you are on the verge of 500 posts and 5000 comments! Congratulations!
Posted by: vknits at March 22, 2007 09:20 AMLOL, on the bag within a bag. I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that! Great looking bag though.
Posted by: Kim U at March 22, 2007 09:21 AMBag within a bag, eh? I do that sometimes too. I like that Ditty bag.
Posted by: Wanda at March 22, 2007 09:44 AMHehe! On my blog I'm close to 500 comments, just one zero less! I'm thinking of some sort of contest too!
Posted by: Valerie at March 22, 2007 09:52 AMwell? where did you FIND it? have u started seaming up mod on mod?
Posted by: Cyn at March 22, 2007 10:06 AMNice bag, I'm holding out for the "perfect" bag. I've wanted to sew one out of placemats and nappies I bought a year ago but haven't gotten around to do it. Does anyone know of a place with a great selection of leather handbag handles? Becky
Posted by: becky at March 22, 2007 10:15 AMI love that bag! Peacock was definitely the way to go. :)
Posted by: canknitian at March 22, 2007 10:23 AMI love Vera Bradley's Petal Pink collection. I like to have bag within bags too! I always have at least two bags with me. I wish I could find the perfect knitting bag in petal pink.
Posted by: Lisa at March 22, 2007 10:27 AMWhat cool squares. I really like the colors. I am always buying more bags to put my knitting in. Rather the way some women buy purses! I like your new toy.
Posted by: Kathy at March 22, 2007 10:34 AMI use a Vera Bradley "Betsy" (in Hope Toille) for my knitting bag. I carry either a "Little Betsy" (Peacock) or the just purchased "Bucket Tote" (Java Blue). I resisted the siren call of Vera Bradley bags for as long as I could. Meh.
Posted by: Beth at March 22, 2007 10:37 AMI love Vera Bradley stuff. LOVE it. Looks like you can fit a good amount in that ditty bag. I do bags within bags too. I have a couple little project pouches I like, (one from the loopey ewe and one from piddleloop) and then I put them into a bigger bag.
Posted by: rohanknitter at March 22, 2007 10:50 AMYou've always got such pretty bags! I usually just toss my knitting into my purse. I've got a mental image of my "dream bag" and am always on the lookout for it. :)
Posted by: Sarah at March 22, 2007 10:51 AMI'm planning to make that Mod on Mod blanket too, in those beautiful colors. I'm working on collecting the yarn now. It looks like you've got some fun stuff on tap. And the VB bag is beautiful!
Posted by: Jennifer at March 22, 2007 10:51 AMDon't you just LOVE Vera Bradley! Don't leave home with out her! I am a bag hopper, never know which bag I might show up with at my knitting groups. Right now it's a canvas bag that I needle felted some sheep and embroidered a saying on.

Posted by: Joanne at March 22, 2007 11:21 AMI love Vera Bradley bags too! Your colors are perfect for spring. ;-)
Posted by: Michelle at March 22, 2007 11:27 AMI've been an avid reader of your blog for quite some time, but I've never commented before now. I'm commenting now because I want you to know that I absolutely LOVE all the fun bags you ALWAYS have! You inspired me long ago to stop carrying my knitting projects around in old plastic bags from the grocery store and start treating myself to fun and beautiful bags - bags that make me WANT to have my knitting with me. I've purchased several bags you've shown, or were inspired to find some fun ones on my own. Particularly, the one you showed today - FABULOUS! I will definitely be visiting that website! I just wanted to thank you for that.
Posted by: Lauren at March 22, 2007 11:28 AMI really like VB bags too :) But for projects I like those vinyl zipper bags that exist. I have several left from my cross stitching life :)
Oh and congarats on approaching your 5.000th comment :)
Cheers Eva
Posted by: Eva at March 22, 2007 11:31 AMIt's a good idea to keep bags within bags. Then when you want to take different things with you, you don't have to pull everything out, just pull the bags you don't want, and add the bags you do!
Posted by: Kristin at March 22, 2007 11:40 AMOH! I do the bag in a bag thing too! My family makes fun of me something terrible!
Posted by: Amy N Texas at March 22, 2007 11:53 AMGirl,
You always find the most awesome bags! You know I purchased the Lexie Barnes Superstar Baja bag and absolutely love, love, love it! Its become my daily bag that I carry around with me everywhere! This was inspired by you:) And now, I must have one of these too! I saving the link to my favorites to add one of these to my collection soon.
Posted by: Marisol at March 22, 2007 12:06 PMIt must be a Knitter thing to put your bag in a bag. I thought we all did it. Nothing wrong with being organized:)
You always have the prettiest bags! I just love reading your blog...
Stacey, I like the new ditty bag. I don't like the new Breast cancer awareness one though. There are so many patterns to pick from. I may have to get one since you vouch for the knittng project room. Are we to 5000 comments yet?
Posted by: Becky at March 22, 2007 12:28 PMcan't wait to see the FO's--especially with the sheep shop yarn and all that wonderful Patagonia cotton! their colorways are so yummy!
sending warm hugs and good thoughts to your family and to you! :o)
I like the idea of a project bag and keep several of them around the house. Three projects = three bags, four projects = four bags, etc. I also keep baskets around for "at home" knitting. It's a kooky system, I guess, but it works for me. Nice bag by the way, beautiful colors!
Posted by: heather at March 22, 2007 12:54 PMI want one in the Capri Melon color. I love that they are lined with plastic too. LOVE.
Posted by: Amanda at March 22, 2007 01:22 PMOoh, love the Vera Bradley bag! I just bought the Tie Tote in Peacock to use as a knitting bag. It's my first Vera bag, I love it so far! I haven't seen the ditty bags in person, I'll have to check them out.
Posted by: Legally Knit at March 22, 2007 08:25 PMI love the color of the Jawbreaker. Yum!
Posted by: K. Anne at March 23, 2007 12:25 PMOhhhhhh... I adore Vera bags! I have many of them (my mom sends them to me as gifts- my mom is so awesome!) but I never thought to use them for my knitting- doh! I'll have to go and see which one I want to use first...
Posted by: Katie at March 23, 2007 12:39 PMI thought your Jawbreaker was made with Manos Wildflowers -- then I checked you past posts. I just acquired some Wildflowers for a vest. Love the cotton! Hope to see a big picture soon. :)
Posted by: Becky at March 23, 2007 01:34 PMBeautiful colour combination.
