I haven't talked about my Mod-on-Mod blanket in a while, so I thought I show a progress picture. I have 10 of the 20 squares complete. For the most part I just pick this one up when I need some mindless stockinette knitting. I still love working with this chunky cotton yarn. It's Araucania Patagonia and Araucania Nature Cotton. The pattern is from the book Yarn Play.

One day at work when I first started my afghan I was bored, so I made up a new color coded page that shows the layout of the afghan. Yes, I'm a knitting nerd and I like to play with markers!
A few weeks ago, RayLynn came out for a quick whirlwind visit to Denver. While she was here, she was able to model her first ever knitted garment! I'm so proud of you RayLynn! Be sure to click on the picture above to see the back of the garment. I love to see the people that I've taught to knit challenging themselves, and I know this was a challenge for her. (there were many phone calls folks) But she stuck with it and finished!
Pattern: "Ginger" from The Summer Tweed Collection
Size: medium
Yarn: 4 skeins of Rowan Summer Tweed in color Angel-526
Cute afghan!! I want to see you finish up Lizard! :op "Says the Girl finishing up hers" Haha!
Love the back of RayLynn's tank!
Posted by: Stacey_CrimsonPurl at August 7, 2007 05:48 PMHey! Your Mod on Mod looks good! I am still working on mine. I've finished twelve squares. I want to have it done before winter so that means I better hurry up!
Posted by: Suzanne at August 7, 2007 06:12 PMYour afghan is beautiful and I love the pattern you colored. RayLynn's top is wonderful!
Posted by: Beth at August 7, 2007 06:42 PMRemember way back in February when this chick from California called Colorful Yarns and got all the same colors for this afghan as you, thinking I had all the time in the world to make this great afghan? Well, the wedding is on the 25th and I am working at a fevered pitch to get it done!! Ours look just about the same. Hummm.....can I have some squares, Stacey? Don't you know eventually I would be good for them?!!! My mantra must become: I know I can. I know I can. (Actually, yours is better because of the cool things you do with markers!) Blessings to all of your family~

Yay for RayLynn! Her top looks so cute!
Posted by: Terrie at August 8, 2007 09:27 AMI forgot to mention how much I loved the blanket. You know, I am not a pink and orange kind of gal but I am enjoying this color scheme. I never thought about the mod blanket, but again, seeing it put together is so appealing.
