Moving right along...Liam's sweater is now cruising after a little bit of a bumpy start this weekend. I had gauge problems, tangled yarn problems, row counts being off, etc. All of this due to knitter error, not problems with the pattern or design or the yarn manufacturer. I think that I ended up casting on and knitting 4 inches or so about a half a dozen times. Enough that I could have been done with the front and back of the sweater by then, but I decided not to think of it like that or else it would drive me crazy. All is good now though. I had a blast hanging out with some knitting friends on Friday night. We ended up back at my place, where we laughed the night away...it was just what I needed. Thanks girls!
Posted by Stacey at August 20, 2007 07:47 AMBeautiful work! How is the Comfort to work with? I got the purple variegated to make a baby sweater out of in the class we are having at our local knitting group's retreat this weekend. Can't wait!! (Nothing like y'all's mountain cabin for your retreat - but the food is great!)
Posted by: Liz G. at August 20, 2007 01:13 PMOh no, you didn't have to start it over again after I saw you Saturday did you?
Well, it's looking great now--I'm loving the way the cables are popping with that yarn.
I had a blast Friday too--it's amazing how fast time goes when we all get to hang out together :)
Posted by: Kim at August 20, 2007 03:18 PMI had fun on Friday, too!
I'm sorry you had to restart the sweater so much, but it's looking great now! :)
Posted by: Terrie at August 20, 2007 03:44 PMOh, knitting friends! Wish I had them. My friends are so very wonderful. We have a deep connection to one another that cannot be broken. None of my (eight) closest friends knit or crochet, nor do they have any interest in picking up the art. There is, however, always hope.
Posted by: julie at August 20, 2007 05:59 PMSorry you had to reknit. Hopefully you have smooth going the rest of the way. I am using that cable pattern on something else and I can't get my cables so nice looking. How'd you do it?
