Oh yes, it's that time of year. Family reunion time! We are headed to Kansas City in this big van...it's going to be my sister, her husband and 2 kids, my brother and his wife and their large dog...oh and me. I'm sure that I'll have lots to talk about next week, if we don't all kill each other on the drive across Kansas! See ya!
Yay for KC! Hope everyone fits into the van. :-) I don't think I'd look forward to the drive across KS if it was very cramped. Enjoy the cowpat stench for the 4 hours of western KS!
Posted by: Christy at August 30, 2007 09:56 PMoh man. make sure you stop in lawrence to hit the yarn barn!!
I'm trying not to think about how much easier childhood would have been if I'd known how to knit... we did the Topeka-to-Denver drive and back at least 3x a year!!

Posted by: Beth at August 31, 2007 05:15 AMYes, the lovely drive across Kansas. Just so you know -- Wichita has a new yarn shop called Twist. You may want to keep the big van for another trip so you can go to Twist and to see the Yarn Harlot on tour. She will be in Wichita on September 16 -- just saying --

Posted by: Terrie at August 31, 2007 10:46 AMIf you're looking for a yarny leg stretcher on the way to or fro, there is a surprisingly wonderful yarn shop in the tiny town of Gove, Kansas - about 10 miles south of I-70 and maybe 30 miles east of Oakley. No website, but they advertise in the back of IK. That was my leg stretcher of choice driving to Colorado Springs earlier this year... and I left with a lighter wallet and fuller trunk.
Posted by: sally, The Fearless Knitter at August 31, 2007 12:25 PMOh my word! Good luck on the trip, that sounds like one packed van (and you didn't even mention the luggage ;)!
Posted by: Alice at August 31, 2007 03:41 PMHave fun! Can you knit while riding?
Posted by: Beth at August 31, 2007 07:13 PMHave a wonderful time!
