I think I can, I think I can...

Mom_Me_Dec2007.jpg

I've been furiously knitting away on my big gift, and I can't believe that Christmas is only 3 days away. How did that happen? Where did the time go? I'm so close to being done. I just keep telling myself, keep knitting, keep knitting, keep knitting. You can do it, you can do it, you can do it. Reading about the Yarn Harlot's crazy Christmas knitting has been keeping me entertained while I knit my evenings away. Since at this point I can't really show any pictures of the secret project...you'll have to make due with pictures from my party last weekend. It was so fun to have everyone over. I love decorating for Christmas and it makes it all the more fun when there are other people who get to enjoy it too. Besides, what better way to spend an evening than in the company of a bunch of crazy knitters?!

Pictured above are the party favors that everyone received. They are little bags of candy cane stitchmarkers, made by KishCrafts. I highly recommend that you check out her stuff, it's seriously cute. Holiday items, donuts, chocolate chip cookies...what's not to love? Be sure to click on the picture above to see a close-up of the markers and tags.

We exchanged gifts with a specific person at the party and I had Kelly as my partner. She is just too fun. I love the bright pink theme that she has going on. She gave me a pink fluffy feathery bag with the funniest saying on it. It says, "Put your big girl panties on, and deal with it!". This just cracks me up every time that I lay eyes on it. She also gave me some luxurious Nova Sock from Fleece Artist in...you guessed it...bright pink! I'm not sure how she knew, but I have been eying this skein of yarn ever since it arrived at Colorful Yarns. I wonder, how did she know that? And that isn't the end folks! She got me a cute polka dot project bag and a necklace that says the same thing as my bag. Does she know me or what? I'll be sure to list the etsy shops that she purchased this stuff from. (I just need to get the info from her, note to self.)

The next 2 days are going to be crazy busy for me, working at the shop tomorrow, knitting like crazy and then seaming the big secret project, not to mention wrapping presents! Take a look at my official present wrapping elf.

*and yes, that is an Amy Butler Sweet Life bag. It's another Merry Christmas to me bag. For all those that want to know, the style is called Ashbury and the color is Lime! Colorful Yarns is now carrying these beauties. Oh and I meant to mention this last week, but the shop also has all the Offhand Design bags and Maruca bags at 20% off until the end of the month! I've got to enable some of you to buy these bags...so that I don't buy them all! Merry Christmas everyone! Gotta get back to my knitting!*

i know you can!! it'll be so great to see the surprised look on their face when they get to open it up and cuddle up with it. Please don't forget to get pics of the opening of the pressie! Give yourself a break from knitting by weaving in ends along the way (b/c it's NOT fun to do it all at the end). Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Good Luck on the knitting, I'm in the same boat.

Also, the polka dot back is from Stuckinillinois. I know because I have bought several bags from her and recognize the bag. I just love them.

Have a fantastic Christmas!

Gotta go knit now.....

Merry Christmas Stacey - I thought of you all day as I took my Stacey-original knitting bag with me to FIL's house and it made me smile all day long. Thanks for all the tips for these great knitting items. I hope you had a Very Merry Christmas!

Is it just me or does it look a little like that ornament boquet look like its growing out of mom's head? Thanks for letting Alice and I stop by your party last week! Your house looks so cute decorated for Christmas, not that your house doesn't always look precious.
