I was walking up the stairs the other day and what do I see? This little gray fur ball, guarding the entry into my loft where all my yarn lives. He has officially made that room his own. He lounges around on the couch up there all day and apparently he watches who comes and goes too. This picture cracks me up too because if you look at the gnome (remember Gnorman?) to his right, they look kind of similar. Jordy has what I called his "Tuxedo Shirt" on, but it also looks like a beard! Ha! I don't know why, but this is just cracking me up!
For those of you that were worried about Jesse and Jordy getting along, thanks for the concern, Jesse appreciates it....but, they have lived together before. I adopted Jesse when I still lived with my parents about 11 or 12 years ago and then a year after I got him, my Mom adopted Jordy. About 5 years ago, when I finally bought my own place and I wasn't living in a place where I couldn't have a cat, I moved Jesse out with me. So, as much as Jesse pretends not to remember Jordy or that they lived together for the majority of their lives, they are adjusting well.
My sister took this picture of Amelia over the weekend and I had to share. The sweater that she is wearing is one that I knit for Liam when he was a baby. It's the Baby Bolero from the book, One Skein. I knit it out of Blue Sky Dyed Cotton. (love that yarn!) Liam actually wore his in his hospital photos and then promptly grew out of it. I love it when you get to use hand knits for multiple baby's. Way to recycle Whit!
Posted by Stacey at February 21, 2008 09:01 AMThat kitty is so cute-he looks full of personality! Amelia is sure growing fast. She is so bright eyed-really sweet:)
Posted by: Jeanie at February 21, 2008 11:04 AMThose hands are too funny! I hope my sis recycles knits, too.
Jordy is the best. I love his gnomish style.
Posted by: michaele at February 21, 2008 12:52 PMOK Jordy and the gnome are hysterical!!
Amelia is too cute! I love the baby bolero!
Posted by: Kelly at February 21, 2008 01:13 PMI'm cracking up looking at that picture of Jordy because for some reason the look on his face reminds me of that scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail where they have to answer three questions before they can cross the bridge. He's the troll guarding the bridge to your stash--lol!
Amelia is stylin'--all she needs is her own Vera and she'll be able to keep up with the other ladies in the family--hint, hint Marsha;)
Posted by: Kim at February 21, 2008 02:13 PMSo cute!
Posted by: Michelle at February 21, 2008 04:13 PMAs if Marsha needs lots of hinting to get her granddaughter a Vera bag. I bet she's already got one picked out. Amelia is beautiful... and still so TINY! Jordy really is very cute...can't wait to see a pic of Jesse and Jordy cuddling together.
Posted by: cyn at February 21, 2008 07:01 PMToo cute! I just posted about my baby bolero yesterday!! ;op
Posted by: Stacey at February 21, 2008 07:42 PMBaby gift tip:
If I make a baby sweater for someone I also present it with a stuffed animal of some sort (usually teddy bear) so that when the child is too big for the knit the stuffed animal can wear it. What a great item for kids, teens, and adults to look back at and think "I used to fit into that!"
I was totally thinking that Jordy looked like the Gnome!! :D
Amelia looks so cute! I'm glad she's able to wear Liam's sweater!
Posted by: Terrie at February 22, 2008 01:35 PMCute kitty and baby, you really know how to pull out all the stops! lol.
Posted by: CreativeProcess at February 23, 2008 09:52 PMLove baby sweaters in non-traditional baby colors! So fun.
Posted by: Leslie at February 24, 2008 11:02 AMMondo cute on Amelia, too!
Posted by: julie at February 24, 2008 09:25 PMYou are very lucky to have such a good keeper of yarn. When we returned from our holiday last year. mice at been at my stash and I had to throw away quite a lot of yarn. Fortunately my best yarn stayed safe.
Thanks for your interesting blog, I have just printed out you "so called scarf" pattern, it's lovely.
