Last night we had a huge rain/lightening/thunder storm. It woke me up off and on from about 4:30 on. At around 5:30 or so, as I'm trying to will myself back to sleep, I hear this weird plinking sound. I felt that dread when you just know that something is wrong. Sure enough, it was raining in the living room! I had a leak...and it was no little drip...it was sizable. I immediately ran down and grabbed some bowls to catch most of it. Then it started in another spot, so Genia and I scooted the love seat out of the line of fire. (by then the lightening and thunder had woken up my roommate) The cats were freaking out both because of the noise and the fact that we were moving things around. Sheesh. What a pain. It's time to finally replace the roof I'm thinking. I think I'm ready for this week to be over...is it Friday yet?
Posted by Stacey at May 7, 2008 01:46 PMMan, no doubt! I think that Drew can watch the kids so I can come to knitting Friday!
Posted by: Whitney at May 7, 2008 03:06 PMOh no! That totally sucks :( Jesse doesn't look too happy about it, either.
Posted by: Terrie at May 7, 2008 03:07 PMThe storm in my life wasn't such literal "rain", but I'm still singing Casting Crowns...Praise You In This Storm. Sounds like you could use that CD about now.
Posted by: KM at May 7, 2008 03:09 PMI must just be a heavy sleeper. This is the secondc storm in the past month or so that I've completely missed. Hope the rest of the week treats you a little better :)
Posted by: Vicki at May 7, 2008 07:19 PMBIG bummer! But man~what a cute towel!
Posted by: julie at May 7, 2008 07:54 PMDang, Stacey, that really sucks.
Posted by: Wanda at May 7, 2008 09:36 PMThe rain totally woke me up too. 5:30 and unable to go back to sleep. Ugh.
I'm sorry about the leak, but on the bright side - you don't have to refill the cat's water bowl for a while. :D
Posted by: Ella at May 7, 2008 11:19 PMOh man! That sucks.
Posted by: Michelle at May 8, 2008 09:03 AMThat really was quite a rainstorm. It was a good day to stay in and knit...too bad it wasn't on the weekend. What a shame about the leak. That's a big pain.
Posted by: Joanne at May 8, 2008 12:27 PMYuck. I love thunderstorms, but only when the rain stays outside. What a pain to have to replace your roof!!
Posted by: michaele at May 9, 2008 07:36 AMJust stumbled on your blog and the kitty cat picture caught my attention - so cute and the poor thing looks scared. We had a storm the other day, thunder, lightening, hail and snow ... yes, lots of snow (I live in Canada). My cat was under the bed.
