This picture is another one that is just too precious...I had to put it on the blog! It's my grandpa and my nephew....his great-grandpa. I love that my they live close enough that we all get to hang out together on a regular basis.
My parents flew to Arizona this weekend, almost immediately after my Dad had his first treatment yesterday. I'm trying to stay upbeat and positive about this new clinical trial...but some days its hard. There's not much more to say about it now, other than my Dad still needs prayer. Just that he will be strong and that this round of treatment would knock this cancer out! The side effects may be harder this go round. Cancer sucks. Okay. It's good to just have this off of my chest. Okay. Moving on. Let's talk about knitting. That always puts a smile on my face.
This weekend should be a restful one. It's looking like I'll have lots of knitting time. Those kinds of weekends are the best. It'll be nice to just hang at home with my roommate and my kitties. Although...next weekend is the one that I've been waiting all year for. It's Camp Wannaknitknit time again! I can hardly believe that this is the 4th year?! Cynthia is flying out from Boston, which I am thrilled about! It has been way too long since I've seen her, way too long. I've been gathering up lots of fun stuff for everyone and putting together a few simple crafts for everyone to do. (You can check out previous years here: Year 1, Year 2, Year 3)
Have a great weekend everyone!
Posted by Stacey at June 20, 2008 07:30 AMIm praying for your dad. I pray to the Blessed Mother, that she will wrap her arms around him . ( that is what my mom always taught us)
Posted by: kathy b at June 20, 2008 03:34 PMThat really is a cute picture of your grandpa and nephew :)
I really hope things go well for your dad with this new clinical trial!
Posted by: Terrie at June 20, 2008 03:53 PMI am sending well wishes and good health to you and your dad. I do hope the chemo works for him. It must be so hard knowing that you cant do anything. We just found out that my SIL has cancer. I feel for her as she is so young, and I do hope she is still around to see her two children grow up into adults and start their lives too. The photo is so sweet of your nephew and great grandad too. It is so cute the way elder people interact with littlies.
Posted by: sue at June 20, 2008 07:17 PMOh, Stacey...Let me send you a bunch of hugs..and wish you all more peace. My Dad is now home, and just today received his vest that I've been working on for him. He's well on his road to recovery after his two rounds of chemo for his bladder cancer, and recent 2 major surgeries and 12 weeks in the hospital.
If you had followed my blog, you'll know my Mom collapsed while I was there. The ct scan at the time found a mass on her kidney. They've now diagnosed her with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. I've been in 'hybernation' the past month dealing with this and much more medical in the extended family. Monday we hear what her treatment will be.
I feel for you and your family. I'll share prayers with you all. I understand being the 'daughter'. I hate that 'c' word. It sucks. Big time.
Hugs and hugs and prayers for your Dad's healing and your family's peace.
