Did that really happen?

Hello Portland!

The trip to sock summit was amazing...totally crazy...but amazing. First let me say that we were in Oregon for less than 24 hours. I can't believe that I traveled that far and all I saw was the convention center, but that is okay by me. I was there for yarn, not to sightsee! The yarn was amazing, but I have to say, the fun part for me was meeting people that I have only known through their blogs or in the comments of mine through the years. Like Amy!!! Of Good to be Girl and Splityarn Caro!! So fun! I could have just sat and talked with them for hours. (which according to my pocketbook, probably would have been the better plan.)

Meeting AMY!!! Finally!
It's me and Amy, finally meeting after reading each others blogs for 5 years.

It's CARO/Splityarn!
It's Caro!!

...and then there was the yarn. Goodness, it was as far as the eye could see, and it was awesome! I had some serious self control going on, but it was so hard not to just let loose and go crazy. Here is a look at my yarn "souvenirs".

It is Crown Mountain Farms "Sock Hop" colorway "Wish You Were Here", Sophie's Toes colorway "Just a Small Gathering of Friends (one of the dyed for glory winners for Sock Summit on Ravelry), Miss Babs colorway "BFF", Yarn Love Marianne Dashwood colorway "Bouquet", Socks that Rock colorways Valkyrie and a Rare Gem.

Now for some of the non-yarn goodies that I picked up!

Jennie the Potter...finally!Another project bag...

Queen Bee Creations

Sock Summit PintIt's LOG!

Sheep mug and needle jar from Jennie the Potter, project bag from Silver Moon Studio, a few project bags from Good to be Girl, Harry Potter sock blockers from Chappy's Ebay store, sheep bobbins and an owl needle sizer from Girl on the Rocks, a little bird notions bag from Queen Bee Creations, a pint glass with the Sock Summit logo, and a Splityarn bag.
I was practically dancing a little jig when I got my hands on this bag. It's LOG people!! (does anyone else remember that Ren and Stimpy song...it's log, it's log, it's big, it's heavy, it's wood! It's log, it's log, it's better than bad, it's good!) I love my little log bag. :)

Yarn Harlot sighting

We spotted the Yarn Harlot, so of course we had to bug her for a picture. Well...because it is just what you do when you see her. Thats all folks. Our flight out of Portland was at 5:30ish...and we headed home. If you are wondering how I got all my goodies home, I came with an empty carry-on suitcase, so it came back filled up. And yes, that is a pink suitcase. :)

Goodbye Portland!

He's a lover, not a hater.

Julie!!! You won! I need you to send me your mailing address and I'll make sure that you get a copy of Vintage Baby Knits!

The big news around here is that I'm going to SOCK SUMMIT! My bags are packed and I'm headed out to the airport right now!! My friends and I decided at the last minute to just do it! I'll have lots of fun pictures and knitting news when I get home. I may even try and post on the road from my iPhone...oh yeah...I got an iPhone about a month ago and I don't know what I did before. I love my phone!! Okay, I'm out of here!
